After shampooing, apply mask to hair avoiding scalp area. Comb through for even distribution. Leave on for 5-10 minutes, depending on desired hue. 5 minutes for subtle hue, 10 minutes for maximum deposit.

It Does The Job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried Redken's Blondage Color Extend Mask – Icy Blonde. It smells great, and does exactly what it promises to do. My blonde highlights were getting tired and looking brassy and this mask changed all that in one application. My only issue is the extra step it requires to regain the blonde. I normally use a terrific purple shampoo in the shower that stays in for 1-5 mins. Redken's Blondage Color Extend Mask – Icy Blonde needs to be applied on towel-dried hair and left in for 5-10 mins before being rinsed out. So while it did a great job, I'll be sticking with the purple shampoo I use in the shower and cutting out this extra step.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this mask on my daughters hair which has been previously lightly recently.
After applying the hair mask (which is a deep bluish shade), we left it on for 5 minutes as the directions state. And unfortunately I did see to much of a tonal change.
This may be good for someone with very little warmth to cancel out. Definitely not to be used instead of a traditional toner.
As for the "mask" aspect, her hair felt fine afterwards. Not heavy or greasy feeling. But also not particularly smooth or hydrated either.
Overall I thought the product was just ok. I'll try it a few more times if the situation arises but as of now, not overly impressed.

Amazing results but super heavy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a level 9/10 but pull warmer tones, I tried this on my own hair & the results were amazing! It toned out all of the warmer tones and left me with a nice ashy blonde color. We also have rural water where I am from, so my toner seems to fade more quickly...I feel this would be a nice refresher in between blonding/toning sessions at home. The only downfall I would say is that to me, it smells more manly & it really weighed my hair down even after rinsing it for a while. I can normally go 3-4 days without washing but needed to wash again the next day. Overall I would purchase this again & I cant wait to try it out in my salon.

This is great to fix this issue! This is easy to use after you shampoo then apply this to your hair I let it sit for 10 minutes and rinse. I really like the results! This sprung my color back to life and it looks amazing! The tube it comes in makes it easy to use . The mask really makes a difference for keeping your hair color looking good ! I am going to keep this in my hair routine for sure! Redken really has done a good job with making this !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is unclear when this product is to be used. Immediately after having your hair colored? 2 weeks later? Use everyday?
I also was not thrilled that you have to towel dry your hair, use gloves, then rinse off after 5-10 mins, and try not to get it on your scalp. I prefer doing my hair regime in the shower and not having to get back in to rinse. Not everyone has a sink or tub to rinse your hair in.
After I used it as directed, I have not noticed any change in my hair color or texture. Am I supposed to after one use? After 3 uses?? Very unclear on what this product is supposed to do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am one of those people that is very picky with my hair products. Redken Blondage passes all of my tests.
First off, this is designed to dull the brassy look thay blonde hair gets over time. It is a dark purple. I mean really dark! It has a nice scent that does not linger in my hair after it dries.
I added a little to towel dried hair, allowed it to stay on for 5 minutes for my first try and rinsed it out. It left my hair soft and removed the brassy gold hue from my blonde hair. I had no troubles getting a comb through my hair (this is huge for my curls) and it left my hair soft and light. There is not heavy product left in after it is rinsed out. I am in love with how soft and bright this has made my hait.

I always loved Redken products and I have use the purple shampoo before so I already knew that I was gonna love this product. This product is a mixture between blue and purple so we helps cancel out the yellow and orange tones in my hair while conditioning my hair. Also the smell is so amazing! I have bleached hair and I noticed that while using this product my hair has been stronger and hasn't been breaking as much and it's super soft. Overall I recommend this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I regularly get my hair highlighted and like to keep my highlights icy and cool-toned so I have used many purple-toned shampoos or conditioners to try to achieve this. The Redken Blondage Color Extend Mask – Icy Blonde took my hair to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!! The deep violet-blue color of the mask and its thick consistency coated my hair nicely (and my hands -- the gloves recommendation is true!) and left me with soft, shiny and cool blonde toned hair. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who has light blonde or silver hair to truly minimize the brassy orange or gold tones that often occur. The color stayed icy/cool through several subsequent shampoos so this product can definitely last a while if you are using it once a week or so. AMAZING!

This was the most absolute best product I have ever used and there is literally nothing like it!!!!! I’m absolutely devastated to find this has been discontinued 😭 I’ve been wondering why I can’t find it anywhere?! I received so many compliments on my hair when I used this. Nothing else cuts it!!! Nothing beats the icy white blonde this gave me on my hair with my black brown low lights, it didn’t damage my low lights and it made my chunky blonde highlights go BAM !!! Seriously please please please bring back this product!!!!!! Do not change the formula!!! It was so perfect !!! I literally have been depressed over this !!! I need my violet blue!!! this is the only product I’ve found that makes my hair look bright and icy, not dull. I can’t find another product like it on the market. The blue based purple was a perfect shade. All that you offer now is violet which just looks ick on my hair and is no different than any other brand. Gosh forbid you continue to produce a unique product. Between this and the light purple bottle (the brightening one) of the blonde shampoo, you’ve really succeeded at discontinuing the best blonde products you ever created.

I used it in the shower, but the packaging says you should use gloves because it can stain. So without gloves, I applied the product all over my hair and left it on for 5 minutes.
It goes on really well, and seemed to absorb into my hair very nicely.
After I rinsed it (and there was A LOT of purple in the shower!) my hair felt really soft. It also has a slight scent to it, but nothing overpowering.
After I towel-dried my hair, I could instantly see that it brightened up my blonde hair. I was actually surprised that after only one use my hair color looked better.
I would say this product is much better than other color brighteners I've used and would most definitely recommend it.

Left it on for 5 minutes in shower, and wow it really brightened my blonde. Like it's fresh out the salon bright! I can not wait to do the rest of my hair next time I shower. My hair is balyaged blonde for reference. I was surprised this product was a lot more blue than the usual purple shampoo I use but I think this helps it cancel out both yellow and orange brassiness. Give this a try if you love that platinum, cool toned blonde!!

The smell of this conditioner is oh so good. The feel of it is silky smooth. It isn't heavy, thick or gloopy as some conditioners can be. The purple will stain your hands but easily come off. It definitely helped remove the brassiness from my hair. I would definitely purchase this conditioner & the shampoo ( didn't test the shampoo) in the future.

I like to put it on my hair dry, comb it through, and let it sit for a little while and THEN get my hair wet by rinsing it out. It takes so beautifully when I do it this way. When I do it as suggested it certainly works, but for a noticeable impact to the tone of my hair, it really works well applied dry. I don't know the science as to why. My hair has darker roots and blonde going down, and I prefer it to be super icy, nearly silver, and this does just that! It WILL leave a bluish tint if you leave it for TOO long, but when I did that, it still had such a great color and by the next wash it had toned down away from the bluish color to the just simply icy. I would buy this to keep on hand any time I am blonde, which is always. This keeps my blonde looking fresh in between salon visits!

I have tried other purple shampoos and conditioners in the past and they dont do what this does. It got rid of all my gold brassiness and left my hair with the frosty white blonde highlights that i love!!! I highly reccommend this toning mask because it does even what my hairdresser cannot do. It makes me happy with my hair now!!!

It says to use 5-10 min. 5 for subtle and 10 for more drastic. I did it for 7 min because I was a little nervous at first. As soon as I got out of the shower and my hair was wet I could definitely tell the difference. As soon as I started to dry my hair I really loved it. I prefer a more icy blonde than a yellow/golden blonde.

Smells clean, a little goes along way, I have a money piece that was brassy, I left this mask on for 10min and it is very cool. Mixture of blue and violet so it didn't pull real violet and turned out icy with no violets hue to my hair. It even cooled down some of my light brown pieces I have. In 2019 as I started to take my hair from very dark brown to blonde since I am unable to use store or salon dye, my body chemistry does not tolerate whatever is put in the dyes and I wanted something to blend my grays with. I have searched for what is best for my hair. When I came across the Blondage Color Depositing Mask for Icy Blonde Hair Color it was a perfect hands down best for my blonde. I have been waiting months for the Blondage Color Depositing Mask for Icy Blonde Hair Color to be restocked. Have searched for a comparable replacement and hands down nothing compares to how my hair feels after using this compared to the suggested replacement Redken Color Extend Blondage Mask. The Redken Color Extend Blondage Mask dries my hair unlike the Blondage Color Depositing Mask for Icy Blonde Hair Color which nourished and brought just the right perfect look I have ever used.

I have platinum blonde hair that I've bleached for years myself. My roots are oily and ends a dry and split. After using this mask, it has made my ends severely smooth and the purple/blue has brought back my platinum into truly being platinum without the yellow undertone

I absolutely love this mask! I've purchased it several times and it is by far the best toning treatment I've found to date. It doesn't darken my level 11 bleached hair and turns it icy, bright white. It is perfect and I greatly prefer this version over the classic purple one. It's super nourishing and very evenly deposits pigment. I adore this mask -- PLEASE BRING IT BACK IN ICY!!

I did not leave it in for very long, so I am sure that the effects increase with added time in hair. It genuinely cooled down my highlights very noticeably. I will be purchasing this regularly. Have used Fanola and several other highly-rated products for brassieres but none worked as well as Redken Blondage.

The difference was more noticeable on the blonde by others, but I noticed the brown difference. Super happy! Easy to use (but messy) so def recommend old towels being near you and on you. I found the scent to be pleasant.

It makes my hair smooth, shiny and doesn't dry it out. It takes out the brassiness and leaves the real color I wanted. I used this product one time for no more than 5 minutes in the shower and my hair is no longer yellow! I would definitely recommend rinsing out the shower after using this though, it is some real pigment!

Shocked at how good it is

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So naturally I'm a brunette but I get it lightened at the salon to blonde. My hair has a natural red undertone and I think my water is bad so I'm constantly struggling with brassiness. I use matrix brass off regularly and until now it had been the best I could find. Then I used the redken blondage mask. OMG! The first time I used it, I left it on for 7 minutes. I didn't even follow the directions to towel dry my hair, I just wrung it out in the shower, put on the redken mask and set a timer. After the timer went off, rinsed it out, got out and looked in the mirror and literally gasped. My hair had no brassiness, none, the blonde looked better than it did the day I left the salon. I think the secret is they use blue with the violet, but whatever it is, this works. If you have naturally dark hair and struggle with brassiness, I would highly recommend this. I'm hoping they do a whole line that includes the blue violet combination because I'm seriously impressed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is so much more amazing than just using purple shampoo, this actually made a huge difference in how brassy my blonde got and if looks so much better. I am really happy and I will be purchasing more of this product. Would love to try other color versions of this product if they are out there.

This product is amazing.

This product is amazing. My hair gets really brassy because my water is hard and this took every bit of yellow out leaving me with a shade of blonde that was exactly the level of icy I was looking for. Also very good with moisturizing and left my hair looking smooth and feeling super soft.
