Leaves My Colored Hair Soft and Shiny

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the shampoo for a little over a month, and I love the way it makes my hair feel. It makes my hair soft and shiny without laying down. I have very fine thin lip hair and so I’m always worried about shampoos making it flat, but this isn’t the case. I’ve never used Redken products before, but I will use them now in the future. It helped keep my highlights bright. The only complaint I have is that the conditioner bottle also says shampoo on it because it’s a French word and one day I shampooed my hair with conditioner until I realize that. Overall I’d recommend this product. I received this product for free for testing purposes.

Save yourself and your money!!

I've never had an experience with a hair product in my entire life like the one I had with Redken. I tried this product for my colored hair, used for 2 weeks, and it destroyed my scalp. My hair is falling out in clumps and this stuff has given me acne on my scalp, my hairline, the back of my neck and shoulders where my hair falls. It leaves my hair feeling so oily and dirty too. Switched back to my old shampoo a couple days ago and already all of the acne is clearing up. I've tried tons of shampoos over the years and I've never experienced something like this. For how expensive it is it should have been a WOW product. 10/10 don't recommend this.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I use this shampoo and conditioner whenever I have dyed hair. The first time, I had a dark red violet color and this shampoo and conditioner prevented fading so well that even after purposely washing my hair a few times to dilute the color, it was still showing strong! This second time, I dyed my hair a copper, more natural red and was worried that it would fade sooner since it is so light. However, this shampoo has not disappointed! I can even tell my looking at my shower water and towels that I am experiencing much less fading than I did with cowashes or the many other drugstore brands I had attempted. Absolutely worth the money.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing!

My cousin is a hair stylist and uses this shampoo and conditioner herself and recommended it to me and I'm so glad she did! We have two different hair types and colors. Her hair is very thin, long, shiny, soft and she dyes it black regularly. My hair is very unhealthy. It's dry, coarse, dull and thick. It constantly breaks off and looks fried but I still keep it blonde and short. But after using this shampoo and its conditioner my hair looks and feels SO much better. I've been using this product since the 2015 new year and I love it. It smells great, I don't have to use much and it seriously helps my hair so much! I would recommend this product to anyone!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Truly awful, bring back Color Extend NON-Magnetics

Possibly the worst shampoo I have ever used. Like shampoo and conditioner together in a bad way. Most of my hair does not come clean. I have even tried using as much as 3 times the normal amount of shampoo and still most of my hair looks like I didn't wash it. My salon previously carried Redken Color Extend Shampoo, which was great. I could wash my color-treated hair safely. It cleaned great, so I could wash it only every other day and it looked fine. It also smelled good. Then, the salon informed me that they could no longer get it as it had been replaced by Color Extend Magnetics. I tried the new Magnetics product multiple times and finally gave up and returned it to the salon. I will never buy this product again. Bring back the previous product!

No, I do not recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this shampoo. Don’t need to say much more than this, but I’m going to anyways! I always forget that, with higher end products, you don’t have to use as much. I poured out WAAAAAY too much the first use because I have longer hair. Big mistake lol! Other than not having to use much, this shampoo felt very hydrating. I don’t like the squeaky clean feeling with my hair because I know that my locks will look and feel dry as the desert. The scent is really nice as well…smells very clean, fresh. It’s one of the things I love about this brand and all of its products! I’m really happy with Redken, and will continue to use all the hair products by them that I can!

I use the shampoo for a really long time. I’ve been dying my hair pretty much nonstop since I can remember. because of all the dying I do I find my hair getting damaged, so trying to space out how often I dye it can be hard if my color fades. The shampoo definitely helps keep my color intact for as long as possible. it’s gentle on the color but still cleanses the hair well. I pair it with the all soft mega or clear moisture conditioner in the combo is definitely my favorite! all soft mega pairs well if you have very dry hair and clear moisture if you just want to keep up the hydration, but need something a little lighter! can’t go wrong with this duo or this shampoo!:)

Love It, but Not the Inching it Caused

Bought the product at recommendation of a supplier because I was a little displeased over another Sulfate Free product. Loved it from the start, both the shampoo and conditioner made my hair feeling amazing. Than the skin reactions started occurring on days I washed my hair... I even switched to two other Redken shampooing products that do not contain sulfates and the reaction continued. I was completely upset over the issue but glad I don't seem affected by the conditioner. I would recommend this product to anyone who colors their hair, has hard water products and slightly curly hair. This is the only time in the last 3 years living in AZ, my hair didn't feel like the end of a broom!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I just recently started using this shampoo and so far I've been very pleased. I do see a difference in the appearance of my hair after I use this shampoo. My hair looks healthier, isn't weighed down and is easy to style. I also like the fragrance. As for whether or not this shampoo makes my color last longer, I'm not sure I see that much of a difference, but the other shampoos I use tend to be for color treated hair as well. All in all, I do like this shampoo and will purchase it again in the future. This review is about products I paid for myself. I was not given free products to try and review

Super Thick

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant to try this product because I haven’t recently gotten my hair colored. (3 months since my last color). However, I wish I hadn’t waited! The fragrance is a little over powering, but once mixed with the conditioner, they balance each other out. The shampoo is very thick which I think made me use more than necessary, but it suds up well and my hair after feels very clean. My scalp included! I did use it with the conditioner and I truly feel like it revived my color and brought it back to life! I washed and styled my hair one night and when I woke up the next morning, my hair was perfect like I had just styled it! I can’t wait to get my hair done and use it with freshly colored hair!

Don’t waste your money

I just bought the two huge bottles of this and have used it once….IT IS AWFUL. Left my hair greasy the next day and heavy! Just wasted money on this and miss Purology so much. UGH!!!! I have thick wavy hair and only condition the ends of my hair. And do a cool water rinse. Still sucked. Purology is 100x better. What a waste of money!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Top Tier Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Redken Color Extend Magnetics Shampoo is a top tier haircare product that gives progressive results. I normally have to do a double cleansing with shampoo to get my hair and scalp truly clean because of all the products used but with this Redken only one time did the job. The only minimal factor was the scent isnt very strong or lasting which i know isnt important but i love those products from the salon that smell like at the salon. The PH identified on front of bottle was on basically just on the product with no explanation as to what it does and I am curious if only hairdresser would understand that info maybe. But the shine and softness of my hair made me keep touching my hair all day long.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Color extending hair care

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Redken does it again with another amazing shampoo and conditioner duo. I have blonde hair and it's hard to keep up sometimes especially during the summer when I'm out in the sun and water all the time. The color extend line has preserved my blonde and I don't feel the need for purple shampoo with this one. The shampoo gives a weightless clean feel to your hair and it gives you the peace of mind knowing you aren't just washing out color. I would reccomend to a friend and will purchase in the future. I recieved the Redken for my honest opinion. Loved the color and style of the bottle.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It’s a no from me!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, let’s start with the positives: I really like the way this shampoo and conditioner smell. It smells very clean. I also got a lot of lather from the shampoo, which I like. Now…the negatives: It somehow makes my hair both oily and dry at the same time. The roots of my hair just felt really heavy after I dried my hair and it was almost like I didn’t rinse all of the conditioner out (but know I did). The ends of my hair felt super dry too and my hair knotted easily. I would not buy this and I’m glad I didn’t in this case or I’d be returning it for sure. #redken #shampoo #conditioner

Great Sulfate Free Shampoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with my free sample of Redken Color Extend Magnetics Sulfate Free Shampoo. It was the perfect choice for my color treated hair and I was pleased with the results. It was easy to use, was thick but the texture was good. It lathered up easily and washed out of my hair pretty quickly. It left my hair feeling soft, manageable & shiny. I felt good using a sulfate free shampoo that was helping to maintain the color I had paid so much for. It felt like I was really taking care of my hair and keeping it healthy. I will be buying this shampoo and recommending it to my friends.

Yes, I recommend this product.

By far my favorite

By far my favorite shampoo and conditioner. Anything redken really but this line specifically is wonderful for colored hair. I have bright red hair and have had all different shades of red hair for 9 years now. Red is BY FAR the hardest color to keep, the quickest color to wash out/ fade, and the hardest to get rid of as well. But this line helps tremendously with keeping my color versus a regular shampoo. You can literally see the difference when washing your hair, how much/little the color runs in the water. 5 stars all day. And it smells incredible and leaves my hair so soft

the best shampoo so far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the most amazing shampoo / conditioner ever. Over the years, I've tried so many different shampoos and conditioners, leave in conditioners, all kinds of sprays, masks, etc. Nothing worked and I was getting so frustrated! I was sent this shampoo / conditioner from Influenster to try it out . I am SO glad I did. In the last couple of weeks, those left over dry and fried sections are perfectly smooth and almost back to normal!! I am beyond excited to actually blow dry my hair again w/out me risking more breakage. I am going to be buying this again! Thank you Influenster

Soft shiny manageable hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used multiple color extend shampoo and conditioners and I really like this one. I have thick color treated hair that can get frizzy very easily. When I use this shampoo my hair feels soft, not frizzy, and manageable. It styles easily with hot tools and holds styles well. Some color treated shampoos make my hair too slick or something to hold styles, not this one! The only negative I have is that I don't love the smell. It faintly smells a bit like the chemically smell that you get your first and second wash after getting your hair done. Other than that, I love this!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great on Hair Colored with Natural Henna

I am so happy my stylist recommended this product ... I was using Wen but it made my hair heavy all the time - and is actually more expensive. I use very little of this product and get a great lather, does not dry out my hair at all, and my hair doesn't tangle up in huge knots anymore. Using natural body art quality Henna to color my hair seems to dry it out - but the Sulfate Free Color Extend my hair just bounces right back. And I absolutely love the smell. I dont know if there is lemongrass in it or not but it certainly smells like it - and I love it, love it, love it!

Yes, I recommend this product.

not what I was hoping for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love the RedKin color extend magnetic shampoo, but it needs improvement. It does have a bit of that salon chemical smell to it when used, which I’ve known to be the case of professional shampoo. It also felt like it was stripping moisture out of my hair, while some shampoos do that, it’s the opposite of what you want if you have color treated hair. I would only pair this shampoo with its matching conditioner, if using again at all in the future. My color did seem shiny after but I think that was more the work done by the conditioner than the shampoo.

Color Lasts Longer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Redken Color Extend Magnetics Sulfate Free Shampoo & Conditioner for Color Treated Hair twice a week to wash my color treated hair and I've definitely noticed that my hair seems healthier and the color is sticking around longer in its original form. After using this product, my dull color-treated hair is shinier, stronger, and the blonde highlights in my dark hair are definitely less brassy, providing an overall improved look for my hair. The product smells nice, and I don't feel like I have to use a ton of it to get a good result. Definitely recommend!

Redkin color extend Shampoo review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shampoo is fabulous! When I buy lesser priced products, I don't get the wonderful effects that I get from this product. My hair has more volume, less frizz, more control than from other brands. I would and will definitely purchase this Shampoo for I love that it's sulfate free and that I don't have that waxy feel or build up on my hair like I do from a cheaper brand. The only negative thing I have to say about this shampoo is that I wish it had more scent. I love that my hair is so voluminous so I wish it had a fresher scent to go with it. I will and have told my family and friends about this shampoo especially those with color treated hair for I am sure they will love how their heads an hair will feel!

Yes, I recommend this product.

This is my HG shampoo for color treated hair. I have fine hair that is prone to breakage and split ends. It is easy to find a shampoo without sulfates, but not without Alcohol. Alcohol makes my hair break and so I avoid it as much as possible. Not to mention it does what it says, it really delivers when it comes to extending the time between colorings. This stuff smells amazing! But the best part is the lather. I like a nice rich and creamy lather versus a diluted foamy type of lather. This just feels like luxury!Redken Color Extend Magnetics Sulfate-Free Shampoo

not bad, maybe not for fashion color

Not a bad shampoo but I’m not sure how much it protects fashion color. I had a color correction where my base was blonde with pravana purple placed on top. Of course the first few washes the water will not run clear but it started to run pink instead of purple. For some reason this shampoo pulled all the red out of my hair, now it’s blue. I’m getting it touched up soon and I’m not sure I’d use this again, hopefully another shampoo will help the color stay better and strip it to light purple instead of blue. I do have a sensitive scalp and this did not irritate it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Thank you for your honest and detailed feedback. We're truly sorry our shampoo didn't preserve your Pravana purple as expected, leading to an unexpected color shift. We understand how frustrating this must be, as maintaining fashion colors is delicate. We're glad to hear it didn't irritate your sensitive scalp, and we value your specific insights as we continuously work to improve our formulas.

Waste of $

I got my hair colored 2 weeks ago in very bright colors. My regular shampoo was turning the water very purple, (I know some color loss is to be expected), so I looked at top quality products and this shampoo came up. Figured I’d give it a try and was expecting great results for the price I paid. Washed my hair tonight for the first time with Redken Color Extends Magnetics and it was just as bad as the cheap stuff!! The color loss was actually worse! This product isn’t all it’s worked up to be and it’s most definitely not worth the price! So disappointed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Mistake!

I was a huge fan for many years of color extend then color extend magnetics. Redken should not have changed the formula! The new formula leaves my hair dry, frizzy, and limp. At first I thought maybe my hair had changed texture. I have never had frizzy hair. It’s fine, super straight and a little oily. I found some of the old formula in a travel bottle and used it and then knew for sure that it was the new formula, not my hair! I wish this small travel bottle of the old formula could last forever. I am begging you Redken to go back to the old formula!!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Very similar to the other products out there

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will preface this by saying I had just dyed my hair approx one week prior and this was the first time washing it. I wanted to try the product properly. The first thing I noticed was a ton of dye came out on my hands and everywhere once I put the product in my hair. I am unsure if that is a normal occurrence or something from the shampoo/conditioner. I have only used this product once so far so it difficult for me to ascertain whether it actually extends the life of the color. I will continue to use this product to make an accurate description.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I will only use Redken Color Extend Magnetics Sulfate-Free Shampoo shampoo and conditioner! It's salon grade recommended and really extends the life of your color treated hair without stripping it or fading. The sulfate free is so important and a necessity for color treated hair. I love the smell too, always smells like I just walked out of a salon! The price is affordable, and Ulta does sales on Redken products regularly, which is awesome! Highly recommend to anyone with color treated hair, especially balayage. Pic of me and my balayaged hair !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i pretty much love every redken product ive ever tried- aside from a few of the leave in styling products and blow dry sprays. this shampoo is no different. the scent is not one of my favorites, it's a tad too floral for me compared to the all soft or the extreme length lines. this shampoo leaves my hair soft, shiny, and tangle free. it lathers well and rinses efficiently without leaving a buildup. it definitely helps color last longer and keeps it from looking dull prematurely. i would recommend this product for anyone who dyes their hair.

Great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So let's start out with the bottles. Both the shampoo and conditioner bottles are easy to hold, feel sturdy, and have an easy cap to open and securely close while in the shower. I used the shampoo and conditioner for the last week as well as using my normal olaplex after I got out of the shower. My hair felt so nice and smooth in the shower and out of it. It also had a good shine and smoothness to my hair. This stuff also smells very nice. I have my hair glazed to cover some stubborn highlights that I don't want anymore and it seems to be keeping the color in a bit. I don't see any noticeable changes but I also don't see my hair color fading. I would contemplate buying these and would recommend them to someone who wanted to keep their color in.

I love this shampoo! It lathers really well smells lovely and leaves my hair feeling so soft. It helps keep my color going in between salon visits. I love that its sulfate free. This shampoo does wonders for my natural wavy hair and allows them to bounce and shine! I've read other reviews that say it leaves their hair feelings greasy and doesn't feel like it actually shampooed it and that's never been the case for me. If you're hesitant to try this because of those reviews I know Ulta has a travel size you could purchase to try out first!

Redkin knocked it out of the park!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have royally fried vibrant color treated hair with greasy roots. Sulfate-free shampoos are so thin and don't really feel like they clean my hair effectively and conditioners always leave my hair limp and oily. Tbh, I wasn't expecting much out of this grouping either. But from the first use the Redkin extend magnetics blew me away! The shampoo is much thicker than any sulfate free shampoo I've ever tried and even gives me the feel of a slight lather which I have been missing. And the conditioner has a good consistency and rinses out cleanly. But the best part is that it leaves my hair feeling soo soft and smooth and no tangles! You guys knocked it out of the park! I will continue to buy and have already recommended it to anyone who will listen!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the full sized Redken color extends magnetic shampoo from bzz agent and Redken in exchange for my honest opinion. I used product for almost a week for my color treated hair. I am quite satisfied with the results. First of all, I like its composition as it is sulfate free. I noticed considerable shine and softness in my hair after its use. Also, I have less hairfall with shampoo. Hope its going to preserve the color of my hair. I would definitely recommend the shampoo to those who have their hair dyed. Love the product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Outstanding Sulfate-Free Shampoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Redken Color Extend Magnetics Sulfate-Free Shampoo is hands down one of the best hair products that I have ever had the pleasure of trying. Not only has is became part of my haircare products used daily, it has replaced all other products and became my only go to products when purchasing. I love the smell of this shampoo, it's just right and not too overwhelming. It works to help with frizz and leaves my hair very soft with a wonderful shine after every use. I definitely recommend this product and the conditioner as well.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great!!

I am almost finished with my first bottle of this shampoo, and I'm so pleased. I wasn't paying attention, and all of a sudden I realized that I was getting over 5 weeks out of a coloring as opposed to 3. I am totally white, and color my hair a lt. and natural looking blonde shade. It is so nice not to have white hair after a few weeks. I have used other sulfate free shampoos(they are few and far between), however none have both cleansed and kept my color shiny and true. Thank you, as this has saved me money with coloring.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This is by far one of my favorite shampoos for color treated hair. I’ve been trying my hair highlighted for many years and have tried many color safe shampoos but this one is the only one I would recommend to a friend. Even though it’s sulfate Free it lathers very well and always makes my scalp and hair very clean. In my opinion it is also one of the only shampoos I’ve tried that doesn’t strip the hair of the tone or color which allows my to go longer between touch ups. It’s also s great price compared to other salon brands.

Question?

I bought the Redken color extend magnetics shampoo and conditioner on the advice of my hair stylist. I absolutely loved it at first. But, after using it a month or two, I started to get a waxy-like build up at the crown of my head. Feels dirty and kind of stiff just in the one area. At first I thought I just wasn't rinsing it out enough, but even with rinsing thoroughly, I still have the problem. And, oddly, my daughter in law has the same issue! Does anyone else have this problem? My hair stylist is also perplexed.

AWESOME IS THE ONLY WAY TO DESCRIBE THIS PRODUCT!

I purchased the Color Extend Magnetics Shampoo at a hair salon after hearing that it was a sulfate free shampoo that LATHERED!!! I was ecstatic because most sulfate free shampoos do not lather and you wonder if you hair is getting clean. This shampoo does not disappoint!! If you have color treated hair you have GOT to try it. I panic when I'm running out and always make sure that I have more. Don't want to use anything else. Thanks Redken for FINALLY coming up with a shampoo that is sulfate free and has fabulous lather.

Yes, I recommend this product.
