HOW TO USE
For weekly use after shampooing. Wearing suitable disposable gloves, apply Acidic Color Gloss Treatment to towel dry hair. Leave on for 5-10 minutes, then rinse. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. If product gets into eyes, rinse them immediately. If irritation persists, consult a physician. Keep out of reach of children. Contains hydrogen peroxide. Store in a cool place, away from heat and direct sunlight.

I am extremely disappointed with this product. I followed the directions and my hair is now lighter and definitely dried out like straw. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! I am thoroughly disappointed!

Not for all hair textures

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this product on my 4a 3c hair type. Unfortunately after using it my hair was incredibly dry and puffy. I felt that my curls had also lost their definition. The smell of the product itself left a strong chemical scent that was unpleasant. I did however notice that my hair was lighter so I think it would be great for those looking to retain their colored hair for an extended period of time. I gave it two stars because I do think it helped lighten and brighten my hair color but it just did not leave me with a pleasant texture. Reflex does have some great hair care products, but this is not one that was meant for textured hair.

Small Sample but Good Stuff

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was barely able to coat my hair with this sample because I have a LOT of hair. It’s thick and long down to my butt. I still wanted to give this sample a try so I separated what I had and put it through on both sides of head, root to tips. I twisted both sectioned parts and waited the full 10 minutes. I rinsed and until the water ran clear. I loved the slight scent on my hair after. I’m more impressed with the shine on my hair even from the small sample. I can only imagine what a full and through application of this product will do. Great stuff. Thanks for the opportunity to try it. My hair is smoother, shinier and just overall pretty.

Improvement in softness and shine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample of the Redken Acidic Color Glass treatment. Overall, the product was easy to use. The directions specify to apply to towel dried hair and leave on for 5-10 minutes. This (to me) was the most difficult part, just hanging out in the shower!
However, afterwards I towel dried my hair and let it air dry for about an hour, then used a hair dryer and brush to style it. My hair is both gray and highlighted, so I'm used to combatting dryness. I wouldn't call my hair "glossy" after using this product, but there is a noticeable improvement in the shine and less frizz overall. I'm happy I got to try this and would purchase on my own.

Enhances my at-home coloring routine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since the pandemic, I've been coloring my grey roots at home. The off-the-shelf color kits aren't as good as what professional's use so I'm always looking for products that enhance the color I apply myself. I've used a gloss product from Loreal that was pretty good at providing shine to my just colored hair. The Redken acidic color gloss was easy to use, and the leave-in time is a short 5 minutes. The result: My hair did have a nice sheen. I have ethnic, hair which I air dry. I don't use any heat to straighten my hair when I do my hair myself so any product that can enhance my hair's appearance (shiny, bouncy, healthy) is welcome.

Bring the shine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll be honest I was a little apprehensive of this item after reading the directions. I couldn't help but think it was going to be difficult when using because of needing gloves when using the product. I was able to figure out a system that worked for me for the application because I do have long think hair. It was totally worth the extra effort after seeing the results! I also have colored hair so anytime I use products I'm worried my hair color will dull out quicker than normal, that was definitely NOT the case with this product! The outcome alone 100% makes the product worth it, and I definitely look forward to keeping it apart of my hair care routine.

Excited to try!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was finally able to take the time to try this product this morning and I was so excited! I followed all instructions. As I expected, when I rinsed it out my hair was very dry (I know considering my hair was wet sound odd but if you know you know). I conditioned my hair twice and that made it much better. The anticipation was high as I blow dried my hair. I like how it made my hair feel, it got rid of frizz and smoothed it out nicely. I was expecting more shine. I took some after pictures, forgot the before, but was pretty unimpressed considering it was a gloss treatment. I will definitely be giving it another shot next weekend.

Great shine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the Redken Acidic Color Gloss Activated Glass Gloss Treatment. My hair is very coarse and long. My hair was starting to look dull, and I was looking for a treatment to add more shine. I followed the directions on the box to use weekly. After shampooing my hair, I towel-dried it before applying. The directions suggest you wear gloves. I then applied the gloss. It suggests leaving on for 5 to 10 minutes. I left it on for 10 minutes and then rinsed my hair. I blow-dried my afterwards. I am incredibly pleased I tried this. It gave me the shine that I was looking for. I will continue to use this product. I recommend it.

What I like about this product is really easy to use... so after shampooing hair, towel dry hair. using this product after with gloves of course. Drape a towel around back of neck and shoulders (i used about a dollar coin size of product) combed thru my hair let it sit for 10 minutes and this is my outcome.. as I rinsed it I watched the dirt be stripped from off my hair... makes me wonder if my shampoo was actually working.. as I rinsed my hair I saw the nastiness come off my hair.. it's amazing feeling..
It's awesome. My hair feels as if I never breached it to begin with.

I often dye my hair ( to hide and cover greys-lol), which tends to leave my hair looking a bit lackluster at times. Thus simple gloss treatment brought life bac to my hair. It also seemed to help tame my frizz, which is definitely a plus in my books. Be sure to wear gloves when applying the product, like the box says. Rinses out easily. No harsh smell like some other treatments. A little seems to go a long way when applying to hair. I have medium length hair with an undercut, so a half dollar sized amount covered my head, leaving me with plenty for future treatments.

Amazing smell, mediocre results

The product smelled nice and the instructions were straightforward, apply to towel dry, shampooed hair and rinse out after 5-10 minutes. I have 3A curly, color treated hair, so I didn't have very high expectations. My hair does not look particularly shinier than it did before, but I only used it once. It does smell really nice and my highlights look a bit toned/less brassy - not sure if that is an intended bonus of the product. I will keep using with hopes that my hair looks eventually as sleek as the model's!

Slight gloss

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gloss treatments never work on me, I've tried several over the years. This one was different, as it's peroxide based and more of a color type treatment, not just a product to temporarily sit on the hair shaft. This gloss treatment from Redken did work better than the others I've tried, which did nothing. However I only noticed a very slight increase in glossiness if anything. I only had the treatment, not the shampoo or conditioner, so maybe it would work better in combination with them- or if used more than once. My hair is very long, so I only got one treatment out of it. I would be willing to try it again.

It does leave your hair soft and shiny

The product left my hair feeling soft, silky, and shiny. However, the instructions advising the use of gloves for application initially concerned me. It was unclear how much product to use, and the scent, although it fades, isn't pleasant. Additionally, the process of applying, drying, and then rinsing off the product wasn't my preference. I found it puzzling to wear gloves during application when rinsing meant direct contact with my skin. While it achieved the desired shine, I question whether the effort of using gloves was necessary. Overall, I'm uncertain if it's worth the hassle.

It says to leave it in for 5-10 minutes, so I left it in for 8 before rinsing out. I didn't use conditioner afterwards and wondered if I should. Once I started blow drying my hair I was amazed with the results! I had gotten my hair colored about 2 weeks prior to using this product & usually I'm never able to get my hair to feel/look the same as when I get it done in the salon, but this product gave me the same results! It made my hair look so shiny and smooth! I'll definitely be using this product for the long haul.

Must try for bleached hair

I have been bleaching my hair for years and have always been losing parts of integrity and overall health and shine after every bleach. Since i tried this product my hair feeling softer and radiate shine. You only have to leave it for 5 minutes before rinsing and the results are there. The packaging is sleek black with rose gold label. And also the fact that has acidic complex helps gradually with sealing damaged cuticle and you can see small difference already. Also it helps with waiting longer between bleaching my hair cause color stays vibrant! Definitely recommend!

My hair texture did smooth some, but I don't think it was enough for me to want to repurchase this product. I don't know if I have unrealistic expectations from internet videos or if there are products out there that work better or if it's my aging hair. I just wasn't wowed. I have tried other hair glosses in the past and felt like they had a nicer effect. This wasn't entirely disappointing, hence the four stars. My hair was a little less frizzy for the rest of the week. It just wasn't "glass glossed."

Instructions not clear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this free in exchange for my review. When I received it, it looks like a product that would be used in a salon, and not for home use. The instructions were not clear. I was nervous to try it, but did. I washed, and towel dried my hair, and then with gloves I used about 2 tablespoons of the product. I left it in for 6 minutes and then rinsed it out. Then I shampooed and conditioned my hair again. I have only used it once, and don't know how much I was supposed to use. But so far, I don't see much difference. I probably would not use it again without clear instructions. I googled it and couldn't find any additional information about this product. It has a strong peroxide smell.

Since using this once per week for the last few weeks, I've noticed my color-treated hair has a vibrant shine (without having to add product) and feels stronger. The formula is gentle and reminds me of that clean, fresh-from-the-salon scent (love it!). My only wish was that it came with gloves for the application. I highly recommend for anyone who is between stylist appointments for who just wants amazing, shiny and strong hair! Absolutely great for adding shine and helping your color last longer. I had a guest that just had that dull look and this product brought her back to life! I feel like this would be more of an add on treatment in the salon due to directions stating you need to use a pair of gloves for application. Definitely ask your stylist for this, only adds 5 minutes to your session, but the results are lovely! I know I'm adding it to service list :)…not to mention using on myself too!

Directions are incomplete

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free as a promotion, and I was really excited to try it as a loyal Redken fan. The directions were incomplete in my opinion. It says to use it with freshly shampooed hair, but I was unsure whether I should use conditioner or not. The first time I used it, I did not use conditioner and my hair was very difficult to brush out. I did see some results, but I'm unsure if I used it correctly or not, so maybe the results could be better? Also, I was a little disappointed by the packaging. The box it came in was beautiful, but the bottle label was wrinkled and cheap looking. Obviously this doesn't affect the product directly, but for a big name manufacturer, I expect more.

When I first received this product I was kind of nervous to use it, but honestly it give me awesome results. After towel drying my hair I put on a pair of disposable gloves and applied the Redken Acidic Color Gloss Activated Glass Gloss all over my hair and then washed it out after about 10 minutes. The only thing I didn't like about this product is the smell of it. It has a chemical smell to it almost like hair dye would hair. Other than that this product left a wonderful shine to my hair! After styling my hair it really surprised me how shiny and pretty my hair looked!

Not sure if it's for me

I've used it for several weeks now (once a week) and I'm not sure if I used enough or too much because the directions don't specify. As for if it works? I'm not sure I can tell a difference as of yet, regarding extra gloss to my hair. I can say after applying it and then rinsing it out, my hair does feel extra soft and smells as if I just came from the salon. I'm not sure if it's something I would purchase for myself, I have color treated hair, but I think others may benefit from it.

I bought this product since I saw a lot of good reviews and videos about and it was definitely not for me. I followed their instructions: first shampoo, wash, applied the treatment wait, then apply the conditioner, wait and then rinse. It made my hair super dry and now it’s falling. I had dyed my hair and the shampoo just washed it away

Stripped my hair of color and made it DRYYYYY

This is the WORST Redken product I have ever used, and I love Redken. I was a bit concerned when I saw Hydrogen Peroxide as a main ingredient— but went ahead anyway. Used it for exactly five minutes and it STRIPPED the color from my hair and made it so dry/straw-like it literally was breaking. Terrible. Returning immediately.

Increases shine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After first use, my hair did seem a little shinier after styling. I used this product for a few weeks in a row to see the effect over time. My hair definitely became shinier with each use, but I still have to style with heat/tools to achieve this. I was hoping the shine would be there without having to style.
I followed the directions to wear gloves when applying. This was a bit of a pain, as I know there are other gloss treatments that do not require this. I did not experience any skin irritation. I was worried about discoloration to my towels/clothes since the product contains hydrogen peroxide, but had no issues.
Overall the product works as described, but I was hoping for a more dramatic effect.

I followed the directions and after drying and styling my hair today, it's softer, less frizzy, shinier, and overall healthier looking to me. I cannot argue with these results. The only cons are that it has a very odd smell that definitely stays on the hair. It's tolerable and wasn't strong enough to trigger a migraine, but it's not pleasant. In addition, I have vivid dyed hair in a violet shade and I did notice a lot more purple while rinsing it than I would normally see, but my hair isn't stripped of color. I'd recommend giving it a shot if your hair needs a boost but be aware of those two issues.

Cool Product, But not for me.

I didn't realize that this product had hydrogen peroxide in it and after reading that, was afraid to use it in my hair since I do have vivid hair color and was afraid of it stripping the color. I tested it in my daughter's hair however. It definitely provided some shine, but really didn't do anything dramatic for her hair. Another downside to this product is you have to use gloves to apply. Something I didn't have and had to go out and purchase just to try the product. Overall, not something I would actively purchase.

Fantastic Gloss!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Acidic Color Gloss treatment and found it to be better than anti-frizz products! This was honestly my first time using an intense shine deposit. The only downside was I had expected my color to be brighter, but it didn't change as far as color. On the other hand, I am overdue for coloring so that may be why the color maintened the same. More importantly though, the incredible benefits of owning this product is the smoothness and feel of my hair after I straightened it. I have thick, curly hair and after I used a little bit of heat, straightening it, it had a lasting and healthy effect! I would definitely buy this gloss! I highly recommend using it before styling and believe your hair will revived!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. It's very easy to use. Simply shampoo and apply to towel dried hair. I wish they supplied gloves in the box, but the solution was mild citrusy smelling and milky in texture. I applied and left it on for 8 minutes. I rinsed with lukewarm/cool water and proceeded to comb out my tangled hair and blow dry. It's not a detangler! After drying , my hair( hilights ) was more reflective and less frizzy. It felt smooth to the touch and smelled clean . I would use in between salon glossing treatments to revive faded hair.

Redken Color Gloss Treatment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After shampooing & towel drying your hair put on disposable gloves ( I used nitrile disposable gloves) and apply the gloss. I waited 10 minutes then rinsed it out of my hair. Be careful not to get any in your eyes and avoid getting any on your skin if possible. If you do get some on your skin or eyes rinse immediately with cold water.
After rinsing out the product I towel dried my hair again then blew dried it.
It made my hair so shiny and soft! The only drawback is having to put on disposable gloves to apply the product & avoiding getting any onto the skin or in your eyes.
I wish they could make a product that you could just apply with your hands and leave it on wet hair then rinse off after 10 minutes

Bonus, It hid the appearance of damage and of my split ends as well. I applied it in the shower because the directions didn’t specifically say not to, even though I saw some reviews saying they didn’t. I didn’t notice any adverse effects. I liked the sample so much, I already purchased the full size which came today! The one downside is the smell, it’s very chemical smelling but I feel like it smells exactly like getting a toner at the salon. The toner smell lasts about 24 hours in my experience. Just don’t expect to be smelling like citrus like the website says it smells like, it smells like toner.

So I was a bit skeptical to use this an acidic color gloss because I've never used one at home before. Also, wearing gloves kind of scared me BUT results and video speak for themselves. I've been looking for a product that will keep my hair vibrant between hair treatments. This. Is. It.
It took about 20 minutes to use, and when I was waiting, I was meditating. I LOVE that there is no smell and no ammonia!! What a game changer. After I blow dried my hair, the blond came out beautifully.

I was concerned initially about the product containing hydrogen peroxide (and needing to wear gloves during application) and worried it would alter my natural hair color in an undesirable way. I read the directions twice and went ahead with the treatment. It was very easy to use and did not alter the color of my hair in the least. I did not see a drastic change in my hair after use, but it did appear a bit smoother, possibly with less frizz than usual. It smells nice (a surprise due to the peroxide) and was easy to use. I'm not sure yet if I will buy another bottle, but if the 2 once weekly treatments I have done, the experience and outcome has been positive.
