A color safe way to protect my battered hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited that Redken sent me this free product through the Bzzagent sampling program to review! I bleach and color my hair a lot outside of styling it, so I know it's taken a beating. This product aims to restore my hair to it's natural ph, seal the cuticle, and even provide heat styling protection. I used this over several days before deciding I'd recommend this to others and purchase myself. It isn't a unique product, I found that L'Oreal offers a similar in-shower spray that I've used and think is comparable. Overall, the glossy shine result and the heat protection offered in the Redken acidic color gloss makes me like it even more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Redken Acidic color gloss spray pros: the bottle is easy to hold and the sprayer gives you a perfect spray. I have color treated, medium thick, wavy, long hair. I sprayed a few pumps on my freshly washed damp hair, first noticed it smelled very good, not overpowering. I used a hair dryer and a round brush to dry and style my hair, the formula is not sticky and I had no problem running my brush thru my hair. There was noticeable shine throughout my hair and no crunchiness at all, just soft hair. Compared to other products I was using, this made a big difference. It was also very easy to wash my hair after using this as well. I would recommend this.

Gets the Job Done

The treatment works as well as other products I have tried but I didn't find that it worked enough to change my mind about my current product. The shine/gloss is great. The smell irritates my sinuses and is not a smell I would choose. It leaves a clean look to your hair. It's not greasy and it does a good job moisturizing your hair. It seems to have helped smooth my hair and protect it during blow drying and straightening which I do often. I was not impressed with the price tag. I was not wowed enough to ever purchase it again over my current product.

It provides protection from heat up to 450 degrees as well as pollution by adding an invisible protective shield to the hair. It provides shine and helps to keep color treatments protected. I would definitely purchase this in the future because I love the shine it gives my hair as well as the heat protection. I also love how it smells. It's a light floral scent. I really like the pump on this bottle and the fact that I'm able to lock and unlock the nozzle. It makes it easier to keep my product safe around my Grandson who loves to spray things.

I immediately began using the product in my everyday hair routine after I received it, and I spray it on my hair when it's damp before blow drying it, and also when it's dry and I'm going to straighten or curl it. It has left my hair so smooth and sleek feeling, and extremely shiny. I find that a lot of heat protectants can leave your hair oily feeling, but this one did not do that to me thankfully. I love that it has smoothing benefits as well as heat protecting benefits. I will be purchasing this again once I run out

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this product twice, once after about 15 minutes of showering and washing my hair. While my hair was still damp, I sprayed over my hair and combed through. I absolutely love the smell/scent
And how it left my hair, feeling smooth and had a nice healthy shine. The second time I applied the product to my dry hair and again love the results.
The scent is one of my favorite things about this product. The mist that is sprayed is evenly applied and product easy to use. I also like that it has a locking feature to not spray accidentally. Would highly recommend two friends and family and will buy this product in the future.

Styling my hair has never looked better!

I was skeptical of this one at first, assuming it would be like all the others I've tried, but as soon as I used this to style and curl my hair I automatically noticed the difference. My hair actually felt soft and not dry at all. The best part was that it actually leaves my highlights shining thru than making it look dull and dry. Love this product! Best one I've found for protecting my hair from harsh heat while also giving that extra shine I've missed for soo long! Highly recommend for anyone with color treated hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair type is color treated (#8 blonde) 4c curl pattern. Overall, I did not like this for my hair. My hair felt dry, not manageable and brittle after applying. I tried to apply my normal leave in (Mizani) after using the Acidic Color Gloss to soften it up but it did not help much. I styled it using finger coils and I let it air dry. I don't sit under heat too much anymore but will use a diffuser. I didn't notice more shine after. I plan to try it more times to see if maybe this was a one off, but I am a believer that some times what does not work for me may work for you. I like the packaging, the bottle was easy to use.

Redken Acidic GlossHeat Protection Treatment is a must have for heat styling. Redken is a trusted professional and consumer brand and I have used many of their products so I was very excited to see their new Acidic Color Line. It protects my hair from heat up to 450° and left my hair color treated hair extremely shiny. I also noticed my hair was smoother when using this gloss. This product is also made without any harsh chemicals which help protect my hair from additional chemical damage. This has become my go-to heat and styling protectant.

My blond hair was progressively getting more dull, tangled, and breaking as I age (late 40's). I added this, along with the shampoo and conditioner and felt an immediate difference. It became more shiny, easier to brush, less tangles, less fly aways, all while not weighing it down or any greasy feeling at all. However, it wasn't until I traveled and left the leave-in treatment at home, and only used the shampoo and conditioner for a week, that I discovered how much of the change was due to the leave-in treatment! I definitely recommend the combo of the 3, however, I can swap out different shampoo's and conditioners, but I can't live without the leave-in treatment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed the scent of the spray that stayed in my hair. Not an overpowering smell but enough to notice it's there.
This product did leave my hair noticeably shinier, but I did feel as though it made my hair greasier than normal. Perhaps I was using too much. Either way this means I need to wash my hair more or use dry shampoo which creates an extra step or requires more time to get ready. Not a huge deal, but can be annoying.
Regarding the heat protection, it performed well. The only thing it didn't die was cure my frizz. I still had fly aways on the top of my head. Were they better, yes, but not 100% gone.

I have tried different ones and I really wanted to try this brand. First: the bottle is large and very easy to use, I like that it can be locked to prevent spills when I put it in a travel bag. Second: the result is as described, it protects from heat and leaves a shiny finish on my hair. My hair looks healthy, soft and manageable. I have used it to dry my hair with a dryer and to iron it and in both of them the straightening lasts a long time. It has become my must have so I recommend if you have treated hair or bleach.

It has a very subtle but pleasant smell to it which is not too overwhelming and also quite fresh. The spray itself is very lightweight and goes on smoothly. I have had no issues with residue on the nozzle either. The product is so lightweight that my hair did not feel any different while wet when applying unlike some products that leave your hair feeling heavy and greasy after. I have been using this product for about a week now, and can honestly say I love it and my hair feels healthier and fresher after using it! I would definitely recommend it and will be buying in the future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have dyed red hair and live in a city that has hard water. I currently use other Redken products to help with the mineral buildup on my hair.
I received a free trial of this product and tried it out for a few weeks before going to to see my stylist for a color touch-up. He said it held up the color even better than it previously did. Color-treated red hair can easily do a "brown out" if too harsh of product is used.
Since using Redken products, this hasn't been an issue at all. The color is maintained, my hair feels soft and silky, And it smells great too.
If you live in a hard water area and have your hair dyed a vibrant color, I would definitely give this a try.

Great looking hair in less time!

I received this product for free as a promotion, but I'm familiar with the Redken line and love some of their other products. Just as it's name suggests, this spray has kept my color-treated hair looking fresh and healthy. I was using another heat protection spray before this, but I really like this product a lot. The mist comes out so evenly and the smell is great too. The major benefit is that it has helped with frizz and allowed me to be able to just blow dry my hair without having to straighten it. I will definitely be purchasing this product moving forward and sharing with my MiL who has a similar hair type!

I absolutely loved how fine of a mist this was (I almost didn't even think it was spraying). It had a wide fine spray that covered all my hair quickly and easily. The smell was also great. I'm not sure how to describe it other than refreshing and light. I never really know how well a heat protectant is working since the opposite would just be breakage and damage. I do have colored hair and I like how this product as helps for color protection (I haven't noticed any fading or yellowing). Overall great product and I really enjoy using it.

I style my hair on weekends and blow-dry my hair at least once a week. I'm also conscious of preventing damage to my hair and maintaining my healthy strands. After the first use of the heat protection treatment with a curling iron, it left my hair super soft and smooth without any residue/film left on my hair. I've also used it prior to blow drying my hair and again, it left my hair so soft and bouncy. I am all about heat protection as I've experienced breakage from coloring my hair this past year (never dyed it for 20+ years, so I guess it didn't agree with the heavy chemicals), but love to curl my hair often. The spray part on this bottle is a trigger which I like a lot more than a regular pump head. It smells nice, not floral/sweet which is a plus for me.
Applying and drying is just regular styling.
My hair feels soft and you can tell there was protection from the heat of my dryer.
My issue is that, and I don't know how this is possible, my hair looks shiny and dull all at the same time. You can feel the product on your hair as well.
I'm hoping that I just used too much and next time will cut down and see how it goes.

Protects my hair from heat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product does protect my hair from heat. I haven't noticed any unusual breakage or burning and I use a lot of heat. I blow dry my hair and straighten it every day, so my hair takes a beating. I replaced my previous heat protection treatment to see how this compares and the only thing I don't like is my hair now seems very staticky which it never used to. It used to lay flat after flat ironing, but it now sticks straight up in some places. The smell is nice and it does protect it, but I feel like I need to add another product to keep it smooth, whereas my old product did both smooth and protect.

I loathe split ends and frizz.
So, I use a lot of products and to get the shine that I desire without the gross scent is not common.
THIS PRODUCT nails it.
It has the neutral scent, the clean glossy look, and the desired protection from heat. I will continue using a little while longer and monitor the protection factor over time, but after a few uses, it maintains the desired outcome.
One more thing, long hair girls don't wash the hair daily so having a product that doesn't build up and get dull is important. Again, this hits the spot.

The softness and shininess of my blonde hair after the first use was unmatched! The scent isn't overpowering in my opinion and it was an easy product to use. I love that it's a heat protectant to be used on damp hair and makes for a quick and easy blow dry. The only thing I didn't like was the product does spray out of the bottle pretty far and ended up covering my floor in a VERY slippery residue. I will be mindful of this the next time I go to use it.

My only negative is that it made my bathroom floor slippery, so I will be more careful when I spray it on in the future.
I used it last night before blow drying my hair and today I am still receiving compliments!

It says to use on damp hair, so I first used it after one of my washes and then used my blow dryer and I really like it overall. It actually seemed like my hair took longer to dry. I'm not sure if that's the intent or not, even with the heat protection, but I didn't mind. I also tried it a separate time on dry hair before straightening and found it worked well then too. It doesn't feel heavy or overwhelming on my hair. Overall, I have enjoyed using it and will continue to do so. A bonus is that I love the smell!

I Would Buy This Product Again!

This product smells great and the spray bottle makes it very easy to use! However, I don't like the residue left over from this product, it's very slick and has made my hair oily a handful of times. It was trial and error with me to figure how much or how little of this product to use, but once I figured it out, I loved it! I use it every time now before I apply any heat to my hair. I would definitely buy this product again just because I know it does work!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First things first, the fragrance of this product is so light, which I love, as it doesn't compete with fragranced lotions or perfumes. Secondly, I like to apply this spray, section by section, to my damp, color-treated hair and I'm always so pleased at how easy it is to brush through — typically my wavy hair is a bit tangled post shower. My blowout results leave my hair looking and feeling great. The smooth, sleek and shiny look is simply perfection but I do with this leave-in did a little something for frizz. Also, it's important to note that I found this product worked best on damp hair and is in fact the ideal companion of a blow dryer brush. When used on dry hair I found it to be a bit greasy.

Smooth and shine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Redkin but wasn't sure how this would work. During to stress and health issue, I also lost hair and its thinning. This gave a bit of volume. My hair was smooth and the gloss did provide a shine. I have products that makes hair knotty. This did not do that. It was easy to spray on. I also appreciate the spray aspect. Some spray are like it's spitting on you. This sprays softly and evenly. It also has a lock mechanism. So you don't have extra to worry about losing product if you store in luggage or purse or anywhere that can fall and trigger the spray. I definitely appreciate that.

Healthy, shiny hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this product for free in exchange for my review. I have been using a heat protectant on my hair for probably 20 years now. My stylists always comment on how healthy my hair is, so it's definitely a must have in my hair care routine.
I have only started getting professional hair color in the last couple of years, so color safe products are extremely important to me now.
This color gloss heat protectant has really given a healthy shine to my hair. It actually feels like my hair drives a little faster (I have thick hair, so sometimes the drying process can be daunting). My hair seems smoother after I've dried it and very healthy. This will definitely be a permanent addition to my hair care arsenal!

Love heat protection, didn't see a gloss difference

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use heat on my hair daily so I am always ready to try a new heat protectant. I received this as a sample to try for my honest review. It smells amazing and I feel like it helps protect my hair from the many different heat tools I use. It claims to give hair a gloss shine and I just didn't see that difference in my hair. Maybe it is meant to be used in unison with the Redken Acidic Gloss shampoo and conditioner. I think maybe using the whole system together would give more of a gloss outcome on a regular basis. As for heat protectant, I'm all for it and will continue using.

Perfect solution for frizzy hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My natural hair is very wavy and frizzy and I tend to use heat several times a week to get my hair to a more manageable state so I tend to buy a lot of products for protecting my hair. This heat protectant smells amazing and also is able to give my hair a glossiness without feeling like it's overly oily. I was surprised by how little you need to use and how quickly it helps with the drying process. The smell is really nice and compliments perfume and other fragrances I wore during the day. As a naturally frizzy-haired girl, I plan on purchasing this product in the future!

When I got this acidic color gloss product I tried it right away. First thing I noticed is it smells AMAZING!!! My husband smelled it and told me how great I smelled. This has an ultra fine mist so it's really easy to get it all over my hair. I sprayed it on my damp hair and let it air dry. My hair did look glossy the next day. It's much shinier and it's not weighed down. It feels like nothing is in my hair. I really like this and I will be buying it when this runs out.

I received this product for free from Redken through Bzzagent in exchange for my honest review and I was pleasantly surprised! This doubles as a leave in conditioner and a heat protectant and allows me to skip a step and still have my hair looking great! I have color treated brown hair that tends to be drier towards the ends. I used this product after showering and washing my hair 3 times. Once blowdrying my hair straight, another blowdrying and then curling and the last I let it air dry. All three times my hair looked glossy and had way less frizz! I also really like the fine mist and the slight pine smell this product has! Definitely would repurchase

Amazing results and protection from heat

I was never a user of heat protectant sprays for years, but I absolutely swear by them now. This spray bottle is so ergonomic, and really easy to use. After showering, I brushed my hair out and sprayed this all through the middle and ends of my hair. The scent is light, but lovely. This protects my hair from heat damage up to 450 degrees! In addition, it added so much softness and shine to my hair. There's a very noticeable difference when I'm using this prior to heat styling.
