Activated Glass Gloss Treatment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this product on my 4a 3c hair type. Unfortunately after using it my hair was incredibly dry and puffy. I felt that my curls had also lost their definition. The smell of the product itself left a strong chemical scent that was unpleasant. I did however notice that my hair was lighter so I think it would be great for those looking to retain their colored hair for an extended period of time. I gave it two stars because I do think it helped lighten and brighten my hair color but it just did not leave me with a pleasant texture. Reflex does have some great hair care products, but this is not one that was meant for textured hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was barely able to coat my hair with this sample because I have a LOT of hair. It’s thick and long down to my butt. I still wanted to give this sample a try so I separated what I had and put it through on both sides of head, root to tips. I twisted both sectioned parts and waited the full 10 minutes. I rinsed and until the water ran clear. I loved the slight scent on my hair after. I’m more impressed with the shine on my hair even from the small sample. I can only imagine what a full and through application of this product will do. Great stuff. Thanks for the opportunity to try it. My hair is smoother, shinier and just overall pretty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample of the Redken Acidic Color Glass treatment. Overall, the product was easy to use. The directions specify to apply to towel dried hair and leave on for 5-10 minutes. This (to me) was the most difficult part, just hanging out in the shower! However, afterwards I towel dried my hair and let it air dry for about an hour, then used a hair dryer and brush to style it. My hair is both gray and highlighted, so I'm used to combatting dryness. I wouldn't call my hair "glossy" after using this product, but there is a noticeable improvement in the shine and less frizz overall. I'm happy I got to try this and would purchase on my own.

The off-the-shelf color kits aren't as good as what professional's use so I'm always looking for products that enhance the color I apply myself. I've used a gloss product from Loreal that was pretty good at providing shine to my just colored hair. The Redken acidic color gloss was easy to use, and the leave-in time is a short 5 minutes. The result: My hair did have a nice sheen. I have ethnic, hair which I air dry. I don't use any heat to straighten my hair when I do my hair myself so any product that can enhance my hair's appearance (shiny, bouncy, healthy) is welcome.

I couldn't help but think it was going to be difficult when using because of needing gloves when using the product. I was able to figure out a system that worked for me for the application because I do have long think hair. It was totally worth the extra effort after seeing the results! I also have colored hair so anytime I use products I'm worried my hair color will dull out quicker than normal, that was definitely NOT the case with this product! The outcome alone 100% makes the product worth it, and I definitely look forward to keeping it apart of my hair care routine.

As I expected, when I rinsed it out my hair was very dry (I know considering my hair was wet sound odd but if you know you know). I conditioned my hair twice and that made it much better. The anticipation was high as I blow dried my hair. I like how it made my hair feel, it got rid of frizz and smoothed it out nicely. I was expecting more shine. I took some after pictures, forgot the before, but was pretty unimpressed considering it was a gloss treatment. I will definitely be giving it another shot next weekend.
