OK, but I don't love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this spray, but the results just didn't hold for me. Now, to be fair, I have EXTREMELY fine and thin hair, but a lot of it. I can curl it and use extra hold spray and the curls don't hold for more than 10 mins. And that's not an exaggeration. I want to say that this spray DID give it volume, particularly when I curled it; however, as my curls fell out, my hair just looked kind of... bad. I don't even know how to describe it.
Like I said, I really really wanted to like this and for about 10 minutes my hair looked FANTASTIC. I think my hair just may not be the right type for this product to truly shine.

Another great Redken product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a fan of Redken products for a while, so I was very excited to get to try the Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray. I have fine wavy/curly hair so any bit of added volume is always wanted. I used the spray on both damp and dry hair. I liked that I could feel a little texture added to help amp up my hair without adding unnecessary crunch. I would not say that my hair was overly volumized but I did notice a difference. My only complaint is that the spray bottle was more of a stream rather than a mist and this could have been the bottle itself but I would have preferred a mist to distribute the product better.

It smells amazing, doesn't leave my hair feeling stiff or sticky and actually gives my hair some extra oomph. My only complaint is the spray nozzle on the bottle. It doesn't allow the product to mist out, it comes out like a jet stream that aggressively applies too much product in one area. I may have received a defective bottle but that is the only issue I had with the product. I did try spraying the product into my hands and applying it to my hair but I would much rather prefer a mist type spray to cover all of my hair. Other than that I would definitely recommend the product to my fellow fine haired friends.

Easily Achieve Extra Volume with Redken Thickening

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray helped me quickly add volume to my hair with a quick spray to damp locks and a good blow dry. My hair is long so sometimes feels a bit flat, and this spray certainly helped give it some quick and easy lift. One drawback for me was the way it sprayed out in a stream rather than a mist, which concentrated large amounts in one small area rather than a light, easy distribution. It also left my hair with a bit of a chalky feel. I will continue to play with it to see if I can achieve the perfect balance and distribution, but would absolutely recommend it for a quick volume boost!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This new value maximizer really makes a huge difference for me. My hair tends to be on the thin side and it's very difficult to get volume. I have tried so many different things with varied results. This one seems to be one of the best. I find when I spray this lightly on my damp hair after washing and conditioning, it adds significant volume to my chosen style. The best part is the volume lasts all day long. I really like the luxurious fragrance as well, which just adds to the pleasant experience. The fragrance reminds me of the salon products that my stylist uses. A little bit of this goes a long way as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stuff is on point! My daughter has the finest hair so if I want to do anything with it, I usually have to fight. I tried this stuff on her hair and the first thing I noticed was the smell. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. It's ok. It didn't linger too long on her that I noticed anyway. I asked my husband what he thought of the scent but he simply stated that it smells like "girl stuff" (whatever that means) and that "it's nice." As for how it worked, it definitely helped with giving her some height to her ponytail, it brushed out nicely too and it held really well all day long. I have zero complaints. I will definitely be using this again and buying more.

I like to use volume/thickening sprays at my roots to keep my heavy hair from falling too flat against my scalp, especially in humid weather, and this gave me tons of volume that lasted throughout the day! The only complaint I have is that I wish the spray nozzle gave off more of a separated spray and not so much a straight shot of product, it would be easier to spray throughout my roots that way. Other than that, this worked better than most other volume products I've used and I will definitely be adding it to my routine permanently.

Adds Lasting Lift & Volume

This product really works so much better than any other volumizing product I've tried. My hair is stick straiight and never holds any lift no matter how much time I put into styling my hair. I sprayed the Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray on to my damp hair and combed it through then blow-dried my hair concentrating on lifting at the roots. Not only did I achieve lasting lift - I got much more volume so my hair indeed looked a lot thicker. This product has a nice smell also and doesn't leave your hair feeling stiff. I would say this is a salon grade product at a very affordable price point. Love It!

Seriously works for definite volume

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray and wasn't sure if it would work on my always falling flat hair. At first it seemed to spray out in like a thick drop then it started to mist a bit. I sprayed on my hair after a bath, after towel drying a bit so it was damp and not soaked. Then I blow dried my hair with my hair flipped upside down. When I was done, my hair was full of body and looked thicker and so good. And it lasted all day. I love this stuff so much I am so happy it worked. I've tried other sprays but did not see the results I wanted like I did with this. I highly recommend. I did get to try this for free but the opinions here are based on my own experiences.

My hair broke off!

Unfortunately, the bottle I got didn't work that well and I couldn't get the product to come out. I finally was able to use it for a few days.
First I don't like the smell at all. I tend to use paraben/sulfate free products. I never use heat on my hair. So my hair is pretty healthy.
I have naturally curly hair so I try to only use the "best" products for my hair.
Well the fourth time I used it, it was fine until that night I looked and saw a shorter hair by my face. It was broken! I was very unhappy and haven't used this product since.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this product probably works well if it's used properly, however I didn't realize before receiving it that you're supposed to blow dry your hair. I don't blow dry my hair (mostly because I'm lazy about it). I did still use it and it worked a little bit on air dried hair. I do kind of wish the dispense system was different. It has a spray lid, but the product itself is too thick to be sprayed properly, I think a soap type dispenser would have worked better. If you need some volume and blow dry your hair, I still would advise trying this, it seems like it would work and it smells nice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really noticed a difference when using this. It did add good amount of volume to my hair and made it look nice and thick. I don't recommend spraying directly onto hair like it specifies to, I sprayed into my hand and then applied into my hair. It shoots directly out in a straight line and not a nice even spray so it gets pretty messy spraying directly into hair. Also, it does add a slightly greasy texture to your hair after drying but I personally like to "dirty up" my hair because I think it styles better that way and that's how you get the good volume! Overall, it's a great product.

Bought this only because Redken discontinued Thickening Lotion 06. The thickening spray is a very poor replacement. It is too light to add any body and makes your hair oily after just one day. Won't ever purchase this spray again. Bring back the Thickening Lotion 06!!!!!!!

It has a nice scent, but two drawbacks - it doesn't really spray it comes out more like a stream so I put it into my palms and spread it on my hair - not a deal breaker but would prefer the spray function. First time I used it on wet hair, I did not blow dry and I noticed a lot of flakes in my hair not sure why - but when I actually blew it out it seemed to work good. I like the fullness look since my hair is getting very thin and receding a bit. Overall good product

I have tried other similar products so I wasn't expecting a big change. I was so wrong. My hair actually felt thicker. I could tell as soon as I started drying it that there was a difference. It gave my hair lift I never really got and my "flat hair" was gone. It even looked good the next morning after sleeping on it. I bought some for my daughter who inherited my thin, flat hair and she loves it as well. Give it a try and you'll be amazed.

Almost Perfect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For starters, I love the look of the bottle. The iridescent label and bold letting made me anxious to try this! My first impression using this product however was disappointing. It took a few spritzes to get it going which is normal but still didn't spray great once it did. Unfortunately, this sprays in a straight harsh stream instead of a mist. This results in a very uneven application. Product lands on head in concentrated spots.
The result from blow drying is great however! Hair is full and thick and has a healthy shine. I really do love the outcome of this product despite how some areas of my head have more of the product on it that others and I can feel it when I run my fingers through.
Improve the way this sprays and it will be a home run!

I have volume again and I'm loving it! I've also noticed that I can now brush out any lines that form from having my hair up which is a huge bonus! The only thing I wish was a little different is the application. The spray comes out in a straight line rather than a mist. I wish it were a mist so I could get better overall coverage. I will never go without this spray again now that I've found it!

The product itself is good! Definitely gives me volume and thickness. I don't feel it works as well for the thickening as the Thickening Lotion did that Redken discontinued. My hair is fine and has a silky feel to it. I have to use another product along with this one in order to keep my hair from going flat and flying in every direction. The spray bottle is horrible! It's hard to spray the product and the more you spray the harder it gets. I usually end up pouring the product in my hand and rubbing through my hair.

Didn't Work As Expected

First it feels a little sticky on fingers when applying, and it comes out in a straight stream when spraying. It did not make my hair look or feel fuller at all. I also noticed a white residue on my hair the next day. I combed it through my hair after spraying to make sure it was distributed evenly, but still there was a white residue on my hair. I would not recommend this product to a friend, and I want be buying it in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair tends to be quite 'flat' so I was very interested in trying hair thickening spray.
After I washed my hair and combed it, I sprayed the product all over my hair, combed it again, and slightly scrunched the ends and midshaft.
The product itself has a light, pleasant scent, is easy to use, and distributed nicely through my hair. It wasn't sticky or tacky at all.
I was pleasantly surprised how much volume my hair had as it began to dry. As I have wavy hair, if it doesn't have volume the waves don't stand out and look like they are flat against my head.
I also noticed that this spray gave my hair a lot of definition. It definitely works better than any other volumizer I've ever tried (sprays, creams, gels, you name it.)
I think this is my new volumizing product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this spray along with Redken's Volume Injection Shampoo and conditioner and have noticed great results when used together and less when used with others. For starters this is a lightweight spray which is good because last thing you want is it weighing down your hair. I spray all over from roots to tips onto damp hair before styling and tousle through my hair to spread it because it's a gel like spray that isn't a fine mist and I'm letting it air dry on some days to give my hair more volume and thickness and still works. As I said not fine mist but direct small section application spray. It not only adds volume but creates thicker looking hair. If you are looking for volume and thickness this is for you. It works on all hair types but I have fine thin hair so works really well.

But as for volume, I really couldn't tell a difference. I will say that it is very rare that I actually blow dry my hair, which these instructions do say to do, but I did with this product. Not sure if any minor difference in volume I may have seen is from that instead of letting it air dry. But ultimately not much difference. I have long, thin hair that never gets any volume.

I have long, straight hair that lacks volume. This product did make my hair feel thicker, but did not provide noticeable volume. My biggest complaint is the formula, it reminded me of spray gel that was popular in the 90's. This formula made it difficult to get an even application, I feel the product would perform better in the form of a mousse.

I wash my hair and applied this to my damp hair at the roots and then dried my hair. It has a very pleasant smell and gave my hair extra body that I didn't have before I used this. It didn't make my hair sticky or greasy like most products do in my hair. I have fine thin hair so when I can get a little extra lift is a great feeling. Love this and will continue to use.

This spray is nice. I took a star because I don't love the smell and the sprayer is more of a direct squirt rather than a spray. But it does what it's supposed to do. I've used it 2 times so far and it has given my hair more volume. I do also use the shampoo and conditioner that goes with it.

I have longer hair that is about to the middle of my back.
My normal routine usually = Wash. Towel Dry. Apply Hair Product, Dry. Straighten with Flat Iron.
So I did the same with this product.
After drying my hair, my hair felt kinda like straw. I was not impressed, but kept going....after I finally straightened my hair, it felt A LOT softer and thicker. I would definitely buy Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray again!

I use a little on my hands and work it through my roots in the places I want volume. If I want more texture I will spray a little throughout my hair. A little goes a long way for fine hair. I have used it with air drying and blow drying. Use a blow dry if you want more oomph and texture. Air drying for just a light lift.

This is a must have for flat hair

The Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening spray is a perfect solution for my situation as this worked like magic on my hair without the roughness. It made my hair look thick without making it oily the next day. My hair looked fresh for atleast three days which is a very good thing. I am totally stocking these up.

Light and non crunchy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have very fine hair. I have tried a lot of products to try and add a little boy to it. I really like this spray. It isn't heavy, really I didn't even notice it. It also didn't leave my dark hair looking oily.
The one draw back is that I wish it lasted longer with my hair. I have medium length hair and it didn't make it through my normal work day, but would be great for a night out. I did get this product for free, but the opinion expressed it my own.

Great for thin, fine hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have naturally wavy, thin, fine hair, and thought that this really did add just the amount of volume that I was looking for. The consistency is a little thicker, so I find that it works best if I spray it into my hands to work into my hair instead of applying it directly to my hair. I let my hair airdry, although the instructions recommend to blow dry your hair; I still think it works well with air drying! Overall, would definitely recommend this!

sticky but it does its job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very hesitant to try this spray. There have been so many reviews posted about Redkrn products until I just wasn't sure about trying this. However, trying a few Redken products before, I am quite surprised with this. It truly does "thicken" up my hair on the top of my head. It doesn't leave my hair so sticky or thick and it smells OK. It's pricey for a small bottle, but it does its job for me. I will reccomend this to friends and family.

Volume without weighing me down

I have tried powders, sprays, teasing, blowouts, but nothing really keeps my hair soft and manageable with volume for very long. I add a few spritzes of this to my damp hair and then blow dry as usual. It smells amazing and makes my hair look full while maintaining softness and shine and it doesn't leave any weird residue. I've been using it daily for about 2 weeks now and I will continue to do so!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Redken Volume injection spray in exchange for my honest review. I have been using it along with the shampoo and conditioner from this line, and love all of these products. After showering I use this spray on my roots and the upper part of my hair. I work it through gently and then blow dry my hair. My hair has noticeably been easier to style and looks fuller when I use this spray before blow drying! Can't recommend it enough!
