Forceful 23 Super Strength Hair Spray

I have been using this hairspray for 4yrs and liked it up until the last 6-9 months. I live in FL so I have to have a strong hold hairspray and this used to be the one. Not anymore. My hair gets crunchy and stiff at first but as soon as I go out into the humidity, the hold is gone and I end up with a crunchy limp mess that needs brushed out to look decent. Did you change the formula? I noticed some mentioned a strong smell. Anyway, it's been hard to get the last 6 months and right now every place is sold out. It seems like a good time to switch. If you want to sell product, don't change a good thing and keep it available.

I have also used 23 Forceful for more than 10 years. I was glad to pay the premium price for a quality product. I thought the first stinky can was a quality issue. Now I know it is the new formulation. This is an incredibly bad choice on your part because it smells so bad nobody will buy or recommend it. Good luck selling this much longer. I had to buy something else because it was such an awful product. The salon would not exchange it without a receipt, so I am stuck with it. To bad Redken doesn't just recall the entire batch, since no one should have to use such an expensive product that the smells SO BAD.

The new "irresistible" fragrance on the Forceful 23 spray is VERY resistible!! In fact, I dread putting it on my hair every day, because the new fragrance is overwhelming and clings to everything until I wash my hair again. I can even smell it when washing my hair the next morning. I am SO disappointed in the change and will not be purchasing anymore of this product. Why would Redken change something that is so good already?? Most women don't want heavy fragrance in their hair products because it competes with our perfume or body spray. In fact, so many people have scent sensitivities these days that adding this fragrance to your product has really deteriorated the quality of it.

I just bought two new bottles of my favorite hairspray Forceful 23 and noticed that you changed the fragrance immediately. I loved the old product because the scent was not too overpowering - I am very sensitive to products with strong scents in my hair. This new scent is horrible - it competes with my cologne. My first day at work with it in my hair I thought the person next to me was wearing too much cologne and after a little while I realized it was me!!!!! It smells like cheap cologne from the 1970's. It also seems to make my head itch now. Please, please bring back the old product. Thank you.

I've been using this product for the past 5 years. It's been the one hair product I could always rely on. However, this last bottle I purchased contains a new formula, and the smell is AWFUL. It reminds me of cheap perfume, which wouldn't be a big deal except it's not a cheap hairspray. I used it several times, hoping it would grow on me, but I can't anymore. The smell gets stuck in my sinuses every time it's used. I ended up returning it today, and and bought a different brand to try out. Unless the old formula is brought back, I'll be on the hunt for a different hairspray.

PLEASE Redken, I am begging you to get rid of this awful new fragrance that you added to EVERY hairspray. It is way too strong, and does not smell "irresistible." I don't understand why you had to so drastically change an already perfect hairspray and add a ton of too strong fragrance that doesn't fade. Nothing else works as well for my hair as Redken 23, but now I can no longer buy it because of the fragrance. I've spent tons of money trying other things and my hair looks awful now. If you MUST keep this awful new smell, can you please make an unscented version? I know I'm not the only one who can't tolerate the new smell. I see it all over the internet. Please listen to your customers, you have to be losing a lot of money and loyal customers with this change.

I have used Redken products for years. It is all I use. I have a lot of allergies - primarily to hairsprays and Redken is the only product line I have found that did not aggravate those. I had used the 18 Quick Dry for a long time but noticed how dry it was making my hair so I switched over to the Forceful and loved it. But my most recent can has disappointed me. You have changed the fragrance and now I think I am having issues. Almost immediately after starting this can I started having allergy issues and noticed a huge change in the fragrance. What was wrong with the old version? It worked and smelled fine. This fragrance is not even a good one and I'm apparently allergic to it. I realize that you are not responsible for my allergies but changing the fragrance was not a necessary change.

I bought this product as a replacement, because the Redken "Pure Force 16 Non-Aerosol Finishing Spray" is discontinued. My hair is flat within 1/2 hour of applying it! PLEASE BRING BACK THE "PURE FORCE 16 NON-AEROSOL FINISHING SPRAY" QUICKLY!!!!!!! It's the only thing that works for my hair and I miss it! Plus, what happened to environmental concerns? There are no longer any "NON-AEROSOL" options in the Redken line of products! I love other Redken Products and will continue to use those!
