5 COLOR CORRECTING DILEMMAS AND HOW TO FIX THEM

Are your guest’s ends totally faded?
“The ends fade out all the time - stop pulling your color through the ends. It’s about the pH,” says Redken Artist Sandra Hurd. Use a Shades EQ Gloss to restore shine and condition to the hair!

Ready to cool down?
If your color came out too warm on natural level 3 and 4, and your target level is 6 or 7, no worries - reach for Shades EQ Gloss,” says Redken Artist Kam Suen. Mix equal parts of 06GN Moss + 07P Mother of Pearl + Crystal Clear, and process at room temperature (no heat) for 20 minutes. Cooler in no time!
Suffering with splotchy blondes?
Not to fret – use these tips from Redken Artist Mandy McCullough! “When we have blondes that come in with bands, bleeders or lines my go to is Blonde Idol Base Breaker,” she says. “After retouching their color or highlights, rinse, and then apply Cool or Clear, mixed with equal parts of 10 volume Pro-oxide Cream Developer at zone 1 and 20 volume at zone 2. The secret is the timing. Five minutes is just enough to softly erase any irregularities without ‘over-blonding’ their color.” Beautiful blonde in no time!
Battling a blah brown?
For clients who are a flat and drab brown, use this quick two-step process from Redken Artist Mandy McCullough to give more reflection to their hair. First, apply Pre-Art treatment to remove any residual build up of saturated color. Next, apply a glaze with 1½ oz. 08WG Golden Apricot and ½ oz. Yellow Kicker Shades EQ Gloss. Leave to process for 20 minutes.
