HOW TO USE

1. Mix 1 oz. Color Gels Lacquers 10 Minute shade with 1 oz. 20 Volume Pro-Oxide Cream Developer. Adjust quantity of color and developer as needed while maintaining 1:1 mixing ratio.

2. When mixed, the formula will react with the developer, so apply promptly to the hair.

3. Process for 10 minutes. Rinse color using preferred Redken shampoo and conditioner.

4. Smart Pause Technology will help stop pigment from depositing 10 minutes after being mixed with the developer. We recommend removing color from hair within 15 minutes.

For stylists who do slower applications we recommend the following four tips:
  •  Apply the color on hair with higher percentage of white first.
  • If you take 10 minutes to apply, only process the color for 5 minutes after complete application.
  • Apply color in quadrants. Begin at the nape and work from the back two quadrants to the front two quadrants. Once the back quadrants are complete, set your timer for 10 minutes and then continue with the application of the front two quadrants. The difference between the two quadrants will be 5 minutes but each half of the head will be processed for 10 minutes. This will ensure a more uniform end color result.
  • Apply Color Gels Lacquers 10 Minute with a bottle. Its liquid formula allows for express application.

PULLS 2 SHADES DARK-DO NOT USE!!!!! 9N has Red

I bought the 9N Cafe Au Lait Color Gels 10 min,. applied it to my elder client w white hair and it was the WORST TURNOUT. NOTHING 9N Blonde abt this color. It turned out like a level 7/8 w red wine gold hues it was awful. Looked like some generic offcolor purchased at Walmart or Sally's. I THOUGHT I was getting the 9N Cafe Au Lait Color Gels Lacquer Ive purchased and used in prior applications. Total misrepresentation the two bottles look almost the exact same color bottle/label and same name of color. This color line is awful and I will never ever use again. Bad R&D for sure.. And I have prob lost a client over this ive had her over 5 yrs. DO NOT USE THIS 1O MIN GEL LINE.

    Not so sure…

I’m struggling with this color line!! I need some answers! I love the 10 minute processing time, but it seems like the colors fade into this awful gold hue…and it’s not pretty…I see it more with the lighter levels but even my level 5 clients come back and I can see a weird red or gold glow. They color doesn’t last as long and you can’t let it process longer or it goes to dark!! I was really excited about this product, but I think it might be a flop, if I can’t figure out how to get better results!!

    MUST HAVE CLEAN HAIR!!

When using this product, I know it’s an extra step but I will do a really good shampoo right before I put the product in, let my hair dry, and apply the color (mixing 15-18 of the grey coverage drops). I let it process usually for 18 min even though it says 10. When I rinse out, I do a very light shampoo just to get the color out (my hair is already clean) and conditioner mid shaft to ends. I know the first shampoo is an extra step but it does make a difference. Hope this helps!

    Way too dark

If I could put zero stars I would, I used 6nch and 7nn and turned almost black. Now I'm out money and have to do a color correction and replace a client's extensions. Not cool!!!

Run don't walk away from this

OMG. I tried for the first time on myself thank goodness. 8na turned out level 4. If this happened on a client I would have died. Its also not ashy, it's more warm than cool. I've ruined my hair with this product and will never be using the 10 minute gels again. The regular gels are great.

Go lighter or you’ll regret it!

The newer bottles are WAY DARK. I used my same formula on my client (9N and 8N) and it turned out like a 6-7. I had to do a Malibu and a blonding session to fix. Nightmare! Something changed because previous color session was perfect. Ugh!!!

NEVER AGAIN- 3 shades darker than normal color

20 yrs experience- this line makes you feel like a fool and will cost you a color correction service if your'e not very very careful. I'd say this runs three levels dark at least. Be VERY careful choosing your color level when formulating with this line. I usually use a mix of INOA on base and Shades EQ through the ends on my mom. In the winter we go as low as level 4 and in the summer months 6nn with varying undertones to keep a rich golden or warm chocolate BROWN. I used 6n and 6nch in this Redken oil gel, I was told it runs dark and because she had a lot warmth throughout I wanted to balance without getting too dark I thought level 6 would safe without having to go over it agin to darken it. Trying to keep it simple with a one step process to cover grays and even out her all over tone I thought i'd give this line a try (at home, I'm not practicing in the states anymore). I obviously did roots first and brought color through the ends the last 15 min. 40 min total. Not only did it not cover her 50% grey roots around her face (thank god because it would have looked so dark and flat like shoe polish BUT not the point- it didn't cover) the over all color especially her lighter warm ends look like a level 3. Its SO dark and flat and fake looking, its uneven ( not to do with my application either) it didn't cover her greys and even if my formula was a little off, like not as chocolaty as I wanted I didn't formulate a natural very dark brown of a Persian or Mexican woman. Not even in the light do I see what you'd call BROWN. For a level SIX on natural level 5 to come out this DARK is just ridiculous. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Even with my color knowledge and 20 yrs experience I wish I had read and trusted the reviews before thinking I was playing it safe by using two shades lighter a formula. Never again. Im lucky she's a brunette to begin with but we are both very disappointed. We have one month to let it hopefully fade a bit and do a root touch up before attending a wedding and family reunion in Europe.

    8nn 10 min

Used 7n on my first time using it on a level 6. Was dark, so I next time went to 8nn. Whoa that was way to red. And really not that much lighter, thinking you are now in the blondes. I understand n’s to be neutral with a bit more of gold in it. This was to dark and to red. In another line it would be much lighter. If your levels are that dark you need to go up into the 10’s to get into good blondes. Loved the coverage and timing but level wise very bad. Could not find a color swatch of any of the new 10 min.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
