HOW TO USE
Apply after using Extreme Shampoo. Spray evenly on hair and lather. Leave on 3-5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Recommended for use 1-3 times per week. For intensified strength, use Extreme Anti-Snap.

I was first introduced to this product back in 2006 after I got my hair dyed professionally and was complaining of my hair being thin and having breakage I decided to try the entire Redken extreme line including the Redken extreme cat protein reconstructing hair treatment spray in my hair not only grew so much longer than it ever had but it was thicker and healthier I have since then had a baby about three years ago and am experiencing feeling once again so I’ve started to use the line again and have seen the results instantaneously what was I thinking that using this consistently I will continue to use this always such a great buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant to try this 3 step process especially after reading some of the reviews that said it left your hands blue and even sores on your scalp, ouch! Luckily my results were completely different. At first I tried using it with gloves just to be safe and then realized even without gloves it did not leave my hands blue. The results were definitely noticeable after one use. I will continue to repurchase this 3 step process since it has worked better for me than any other purple shampoos and conditioners. Must have for blondes or highlighted hair, no more brassy hair. I received this product complimentary for my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly this product seems pointless to me. A spray bottle in the shower is impossible to use. I wish this was in some sort of cream form and in a squeeze bottle. Definitely poor design. I also feel or see no difference after I use it. Spraying a liquid on my hair to sit when it’s already wet really does nothing but tangle my hair. It’s hard to comb through a spritz of basically water when your hair is already wet while you’re in the shower. I used this several times and then gave up on it. It’s difficult to use and see no results. I received this product complimentary for review purposes but all opinions are my own.

POORLY DESIGNED BOTTLE...

I bought this at the suggestion of my hair stylist. I have only attempted to use it two or three times but the design of the bottle makes is impossible to use in the shower with wet hands. You can NOT hold on to the bottle with ONE HAND while trying to press the pump at the top to get the product onto the hair if your hands are wet (as they are when taking a shower)....your hand will slide up making it IMPOSSIBLE to hold and apply with one hand. Clearly this product is made to USE WHILE IN THE SHOWER since you only leave on a few minutes and then rinse it out. They need to redesign the shape of the bottle....for that ALONE, I will never purchase this product again until they do so. TWO THUMBS DOWN!!!!!!

The boost I needed for my over processed hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After just one use I noticed a huge improvement in my hair! I do have hair a little thicker and past my shoulders so it usually looks dull, bland, boring. When I tried the Redken Extreme Cat protein treatment it took away all the negatives in my hair (fly always, lack of shine, lack of volume, etc) and put everything in that I wanted (shine, volume, soft to the touch). All I did was wash my hair and use this in place of my conditioner. Left it in a little over 5 minutes and rinsed. I'm loving my salon like results to put life back into my lifeless hair!

I did notice that my hair was softer and shinier afterwards, without being too weighed down. However, I don’t think it did much for anti-breakage.... it’s definitely hard to tell if it helped. Also the packaging sucks... it’s in a spray bottle and it is SO difficult to spray with wet hands! So I knocked off 2 stars for packaging and the claims for it being anti-breakage but it is a good product to help shine and smooth your hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item as a complimentary gift and have been using it infrequently for about a month alongside the Redken Blondage Shampoo and Conditioner. The smell is lovely and the spray is a lightweight mist, but unfortunately it leaves behind quite a bit of residue in my hair. Although my hair has a lot a body, it tends to look greasy quickly, so this particular product is not something I will use on a regular basis. I will say, however, that it is a nice refresher for an occasional conditioning treatment for the my dry and brittle hair ends!

Great for bleached hair!

The first time I tried this product was back in 2016 at the salon I was working at and have used it ever since. This is such a great product for anyone with processed hair that needs some extra love. I find it works best when applied to freshly washed hair that has been towel dried and left on to soak in. After a few uses you’ll see amazing results! I’d like to think this product is one that has aided in my hair growth and keeping it strong. This will forever be a favorite product of mine that I rephrases time and time again!

J.Huff: This stuff has been around for about 20 years now and I can see why - it REALLY WORKS. It totally strengthens and stops breaking and splitting hair. A lot of people don't seem to understand that this is NOT a conditioner - It is a treatment, so don't expect it to leave hair soft, silky and tangle-free. You also need to apply it properly: Shampoo with Hair Cleansing Creme or a Clairifying Shampoo, Spray about 8 to ten pumps on damp hair add more as needed until it lathers up, wait 5 to 15 mins. or until lather disappears. Use a plastic cap if your hair is very damaged and wait 20 mins. rinse well and follow with your regular conditioner or a masque to soften and detangle. If the product doesn't lather it means your hair is very damaged and needs more product.

I had really high expectations for this product as I received it for free for testing purposes and the other Redken Blondage products that came with it were awesome. However, when I realized this is an in shower product I was confused because of the spray feature. Personally I found it a little difficult to use and to tell where the product had been applied since it follows shampooing. It didn’t give clarification if this is used in the place of conditioner or in addition. I wouldn’t buy this product on its own.

my stylist recommended this product after the discontinuation of the Color care Total Recharge. I had used total recharge for years. It worked so well to protect my hair from blow drying, coloring, and the sun as I work outside all day. The best thing it did was give my hair such volume! Provided such depth and body to my otherwise soft, limb and very, very fine blonde hair. I tried this product and it did not provide the same results at all. Made it very soft, but soft to the point it wouldn't eve ld any curl.

I've noticed as I've gotten older that my hair seems a bit damaged from styling products, and was hoping that this would help. My hair was very knotted after using it; I was expecting it to be even better than using standard conditioner, and it wasn't. A little disappointed - I would not purchase this. Also, I almost felt like I needed to use conditioner afterwards, to get rid of the knots in my hair.

Good, Strengthening Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy this product and do feel like it helps protect my hair from breakage. However, it is definitely a strengthening treatment and NOT a conditioning treatment. first time I used this product, I made the mistake of skipping conditioner, thinking it would have a deep conditioning feel on its own. Since then, I discovered that it actually helps to use more conditioner than normal, when using the Extreme CAT treatment. Without a little extra deep conditioning, this product definitely makes my hair tangle worse than normal. I use Redken's Extreme Bleach Recovery Lamellar Water more frequently, which is perfect for my specific hair type (fine, bleached) and then I do the Extreme CAT treatment about once every 1-2 months. Seems to work great and keep my bleached hair healthy and strong!

I have been using this for over 30 years since they discontinued p.p.t.-s77. Most people who use it don’t seem to know how to use it or what it is supposed to do. Redken would do well to put up videos showing how to use their products and how they are supposed to work so they do not have unrealistic expectations. I apply enough to get a really good foam and cover with a plastic cap for 15 min. MINIMUM. I follow up an Extreme CAT Treatment with a moisturizing treatment for softness and de tangling.

If you follow anything I post, you will notice there are A LOT of different hair colors. It is really important that I plan out my hair health with my stylist to make sure the integrity of my hair stays. She recommended this at the beginning of our working relationship and the product is not only amazing, but lasts forever! When you first spray it in, it feels coarse and awful, but after conditioner, you r hair will be so healthy! Highly highly recommend for anyone who plays with their hair a lot!

I was confused when I first used it (expecting it to be like a conditioner, but it was a spray). After spraying it on my wet hair and letting it sit for the required time, I didn't notice any difference in my hair. I was expecting it to be something like conditioner and about tore my hair out combing it. It didn't make my hair soft or any other changes that I could tell. I wouldn't purchase this product again.

I hadn't noticed it needed a little something (other than a trim). It was breaking and just looked rough. After shampooing, I applied this and left it while showering and rinsed. Wow! Just one use and my hair is so soft, smooth and looks much healthier. I use it a couple of days before I get color for even more protection. And I really love the scent and that it comes in a spray!

I have definitely noticed a difference in the health of my hair since using this. My split ends are almost non-existent and my hair doesn't look nearly as frayed. I'm a firm believer that this product is the reason my hair health has improved so much. It is easy to use, and it smells amazing! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an in-shower leave-in pre-conditioning product. It makes your hair softer than it would be with conditioner alone. In order to use the product, you spray wet hair and allow it to sit for 5 minutes. One downside there is that you do have to spend a bit of extra time in the shower to allow the product to sink in. This may be a downside depending on how efficiently you bathe/shower. If you have dry ends that aren't smooth, this product is for you. It just takes time for it to work!

Using this product has made my hair feel softer and look as well as feel healthier and moisturized. I feel that overall my hair so far seems to be getting stronger and I have less breaking off pieces throughout my hair. This is super easy to use just spray and leave for about 5 minutes after you wash your hair and rinse! This will likely be a keeper for me. After using all 3 products I could tell my hair was getting brighter and blonder but I’m not sure if this product had anything to do with it. I found the spray bottle hard to use in the shower. It always slips out of my hands when I’m trying to spray it with the finger pump. It would be easier if it had a trigger pump mechanism like a bottle of windex does... it would be much more shower friendly. Once the product was in, it just made my hair feel tangly which is okay I suppose since you use the conditioner anyway. I don’t hate the product, and it may be contributing to my great results, but I just wish it was more user friendly. I received this product complimentary for testing purposes.

Extremely worth it! I like to use it as a leave in after washing my hair with the redken shampoo and conditioner. It has a really nice smell to it. It works wonders. It detangles, and strengthens my hair. Surprisingly I’ve also noticed a significant amount of hair growth. I also use this as my heat protectant. But remember a little goes a long way. I either run my fingers through my hair or I use a big comb to get it all throughout my hair. I like to focus this product on my ends.

Extreme cat, featuring my yawning cat! I received this product for free for my review, and so far I really like it, and have already suggested it to multiple friends.
It’s a 3-5 minute treatment to put on between shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair, and they have many before and after pictures displayed claiming it can dramatically heal / fix hair.
I have used this twice, and have elbow length hair, with damage towards the ends. My hair has been very sleek and manageable with no fly aways, and I hope this product continues to work this well. I wouldn’t say it’s as dramatic as the featured images, but it’s a helluva lot better!
It is surprisingly affordable and I will definitely purchase this in the future when I run out, and I encourage those with a low budget and damaged hair to give it a shot too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy this product. However, I wouldn’t say it’s been a life changing product for me. I have dry bleached hair. So I need all the hydrating product I can possibly get for my hair. I think the only thing that confuses me and frustrates me about this product is the bottle and the nozzle where the product comes out. I will make sure my hair is damp and I’ll spray the product onto my hand and run it through my hair, especially my ends of my hair. I will also use a comb or hair brush to brush the product through. I’ll do this in the shower and leave it on for about 10-15 minutes. After, I rinse it all out after shampooing and conditioning my hair. It’s a little extra step I add after. I wouldn’t say this product is life changing for me, but it’s not horrible either. There are better hydrating masks out there on the market.

The product is very good, but used to be great. The formula has changed over the years. It's been around for at least 30 years - I used to use it in the 90s, when the product was brownish in color and STUNK, but wow was it massively effective. Now, the scent is pleasant, but the efficacy is not what it once was. Having said that, it still is the best I've found for getting protein treatments on your hair. I still miss the stinky, but more effective formula.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this for about 6 months now, and am pretty much done with the entire bottle. I have never used a product like this before, so don't really have anything to compare it to. I do know that I love it, and it's now a staple in my haircare rotation. It comes in a really easy to use pump bottle, and it lasts a long time. I have shoulder length curly think hair, and a bottle lasted me over 6 months. I use it in the shower when my hair is wet. I ring out the excess water, spray it on my hair, comb it through, and let it sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing out. My hair breaks much less, and is a lot healthier looking and feeling. It doesn't smell the best, but it isn't horrible, either. I heat style my hair almost daily and get it bleached, so this has really helped repair my hair. It's a great product at a fair price.

Honestly this product makes no sense. The instructions say to spray it in your hair between shampooing and conditioning and I just don’t understand how it’s suppose to help because you wash it out. And using the spray in the shower is impossible because I don’t have a mirror in my shower and therefore can’t tell if the spray is even going on my hair. Overall just very confusing for consumers. I did receive this product for free for testing purposes

Healthier hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never previously used a product like this, so I was surprised when it foamed! It is obviously not at all like a typical conditioner, although it does help to reconstruct and recondition hair. Redken Extreme CAT Protein Rinse Out Treatment helps to strengthen hair and reduce breakage. My hair instantly felt healthier and softer after using it, but without weighing it down. I would definitely recommend this product now that I've tried it!

I have been using this stuff forever, since its first generation came out over 20 years ago. Definitely a nearest and dearest hair care product that I always go back to. I shampoo then spritz this on for about 5 mins while I take care of my shower business, then follow with a good conditioner. I can feel this protein reconstructor actually beefing up the hair shaft - it really adds thickness and volume to my fine limp hair. My curls love it too.

I have been using Redken CAT for a long time to strengthen my hair. ( I use NOTHING bu Redken products on my hair) It works GREAT and will prepare your hair if you are getting a color applied - ! Holds onto it much better. I just learned that Redken Anti Snap is great AFTER to enhance the strenghthening process. I had been using Anti Snap after shampoo -but never WITH Cat. This is a real breakthrough!!! Thanks, Redken!!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this spray as part of my first Influenster Voxbox about a month ago.
Learning curve: So this is a bit ridiculous but I found the best way to use this spray was by taking a Navy shower (get wet turn the shower off lather up turn the shower on rinse off… and so on) mostly because my hot water tank isn’t big enough for me to take a 15+ minute shower… but also makes it easier to hold the spray bottle.
Packaging: spraying in the shower takes a minute to get use to. Holding and spraying with one hand is the only way I’ve made this work with the water on.
Smell: I don’t think this product has much of a smell of any kind
Does it work? I think this spray is the catalyst that makes the rest of this in shower system work. Using the shampoo and conditioner without it almost seems pointless.
This spray is now my secret weapon for shiny hair I really like it

I love how strong and bouncy my hair is after using this treatment on a weekly basis. I have fine wavy processed hair. I wash my hair with a clarifying shampoo, towel dry and spray this protein treatment on my hair until I work up a good lather. Then I put it up in a shower cap for about 20 minutes, hop in the shower and rinse well with lukewarm water. I follow it up with conditioner. Impressive results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Extreme CAT Anti-Damage Protein Reconstructing Rinse-Off Treatment is great when you use it the right way. I wash my hair, spray this on it and let it set on my hair for a few minutes before I rinse-off and use conditioner. This has helped my damaged colored treated hair so much. It is softer and not breaking as bad as it was. I would recommend this product to others! I have already bought a backup bottle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used product for several weeks. I do feel like my hair was stronger after using. I'm not sure how to explain it, but there was definitely something going on with my hair that made it noticeably stronger. I didn't change any products except adding this to my routine. However, when I used this, there was so much static in my hair. Nothing I tried worked. On my no-wash days, the static was less though.

Love this! Definitely for spread out use rather than daily. I use it about every other week in between shampooing and conditioning. Leave in for a couple minutes and then wash out. Really helps my broken hair heal. It can make your hair feel sorta brittle sometimes though, so I definitely recommend a deep conditioner or leave-in after each use. I use Redken hyrdra-melt cream and the combo is magic.

for over 15 years i have been bleaching my hair and put it through harsh chemicals. i started using this product about 10 years ago becuse i had a very dramatic and horrific experience at a salon. my hair would break off with a simple touch. A friend told me to use this product and redken anitsnap and i havent looked back. i tell everyone to use these and other redkin products. CAT is a hair saver
