In this video, Sam shows us how to create a unique and visually captivating donut braid using Redken's Control Addict 28 extra high-hold hairspray. Control Addict 28 will be your must-have product for updos and structured looks that need locked-in hold all day long.
Follow the simple steps below to create this look!
• Create a side ponytail and place the donut around the ponytail
• Divide the ponytail in half and brush each section out to ensure the donut is fully covered
• Take an elastic and place it around the donut
• Spray Control Addict 28 throughout the hair- be sure to spray product according the direction in which the hair is placed
• Take a section of hair from the top of the donut, divide into three sections, and begin braiding
• Once you have completed one full revolution, begin adding additional sections of hair to the braid from each side and working with a soft tension
• Once you've covered the donut, continue the braiding technique as you move down the ponytail
• Secure the bottom of the braid with an elastic
• Take a large bobby pin, push down through the elastic, and roll braid up to the base. Pin into place.
And voila! A great technique for adding visual interest to updos in the salon.
