Shades EQ, Redken's vegan acidic demi-permanant hair gloss, is designed to gloss, tone, and refresh color. With a gentle, no-ammonia acidic formula, Shades EQ is best used after a lightening service as it offers gentle processing for outstanding condition and shine!

HOW TO USE
- Mix in a 1:1 ratio with Shades EQ Processing Solution. Shades EQ Gloss may be applied with a bowl and brush or bottle and may be diluted with Crystal Clear to lessen intensity or customize any shade.
- Process at room temperature for 20 minutes, up to 40 minutes for gray hair. For resistant hair, process for 15 minutes with plastic cap under pre-heated warm dryer. Remove cap and cool for 5 minutes. For resistant gray hair, process 20 minutes with plastic cap under pre-heated warm dryer. Remove cap and process for additional 20 minutes at room temperature.
- Follow with Acidic Color Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner.

I've been bleaching the hair of myself and others from a young age. Now that I am licensed and can buy these incredible products, my life has changed. I've used a million toners, and Shades EQ is hands-down the best. This is what i learned with in school, so I always fought it but nothing else compares. First, there is no lift. You can basically tone on dry hair to get a more intense result, without worry of warming up any virgin roots. Second, it is so ridiculously moisturizing that it's more of a shine treatment than a color. Last but not least, these are the coolest and most violet-based toners I have ever used...and isn't that really what's important? Seven years a Shades EQ fan, and going strong.

This stuff is undefeated! You cant go wrong with it if you know what youre doing! If I could request one thing it would be that the popular shades - 9V, 9P, 8GI, 7N, 6N, etc. be made in larger bottles! I run through those shades (and a few others) like nobody's business! The amount of little pink bottles I throw away every week is crazy!
I love the possibilities and potential that this product gives stylists. Using SEQ has made me more confident in my work and makes me more willing to take chances and amp up my client's end results.

I do hair and I tone almost everyone with Shades Eq gloss. There’s so many tones to choose from I feel like you can really customize your clients toner to fit their need. It tones quickly and evenly, and doesn’t shift the natural base which I love. It makes the hair so soft and shiney! I also love the smell of Shades! My mom does hair also and growing up in the salon they always used Redken color and products and it’s sort of a nostalgic smell to me and I’m so glad Shades are still around and so popular!

37 years and still my number one for so many reasons. Not just a gloss, toner, blender, it truly is everything. The hair colorist has absolutely everything needed at their fingertips to create the PERFECT finishing color. What’s fun is that every time I use SEQ I always feel a little bit like a mad scientist! I know so many of you can relate. It’s this artistic, spontaneous energy that elevates my finishing color to unique one of a kind perfection, something every guest appreciates!

So this is a great color to use when doing color correction. Just make sure though that when you use it on blonde to cancel out any gold, you keep a close eye on your hair because if you don't, you will result with ashy tones and then have to tone it again or just wait a week or so for it to rinse. When I say a week or so for it to rinse, I mean the ashy tone. These are demi permanent products so eventually they will rinse out but it shouldn't rinse out the color correction.

This is my all time favorite hair color. It leaves my hair feeling still really soft and not dried out. Normally when i used to us that WalMart box stuff it would leave my hair really nasty feeling after i showered. Not this stuff. Cherry Cola is a beautiful color and to give even a little more of a red pop i mix 1oz cherry cola, .50oz marlot, and then .50oz of rocket fire. These are also redken shades colors. Beautiful!

Initially loved this colour! It gave me the the exact colour I was hoping for. It was a silver/grey/icy blonde. Unfortunately, it does fade very quickly. I was back to white/yellowish blonde within a couple washes. I would do this again but keep in mind you'll have to visit the salon regularly if you want to keep this colour. Maybe it would last longer with purple shampoo but I have yet to find a good one.
