Color Extend Blondage Express Anti-Brass Mask

My stylist recommended this after I spent a lot of money on a new look! To my dismay, I was disappointed. I have tried a lot of purple shampoos, and this is one of the worst. I tried it in many different ways, usually in the shower after shampooing, leaving it in for 5-10 mins. After that didn’t seem to do anything, I used like half the bottle tonight on damp/mostly dry hair, leaving it on for 20 whole mins. NOTHING. It didn’t change a thing. If anything, it made it even brassier. Hoping for a refund or something because this was bad. I’m better off buying “cheaper quality” purple shampoo that actually works great for half the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have naturally darkest brown/black hair that I bleach to a platinum blonde. Generally, it takes two bleaching sessions to get to the level of lightness I want and in the meantime while I let my hair rest, it is an unflattering orange color. This mask did a great job of toning down orange to a straw yellow. I didn't have enough patience to leave it on the 5-10 minutes as stated, and it still made a noticeable result. I deducted one star for the ingredients I tend to avoid, silicones and mineral oil, and also for the powdery soap scent. I would still purchase and use this product though. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a big believer/fan in hair masks. I try to do one every once in a while, to restore nutrients into my hair. I usually use a spray leave in conditioner on a day-to-day basis. But every once in a while, a girl has got to have a mini cheap spa night. Having a mask in that little mix is always a win-win. I liked this mask a lot because of the nice toning effects - although minimal - and it had a high-quality feel and scent to it that I enjoyed. I will say that out of the options you have for toner/ toner type masks or hair masks generally speaking this one was not one of the better ones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all when they say wear gloves when applying, they really mean it! My nails were stained purple after applying the shampoo. And it was hard to get it out of my tub even though I wiped it out right away after what happened to my hands! 😱 Combine that with the overbearingly potent scent and my first impression was not great. As far as taking the brassiness out of my hair, it was very disappointing and possibly not even needed. One use resulted in my golden blonde looking ashy and slightly grey. It did calm down after a few washes but sheesh! I was a little worried at first and will not use this again. I personally would not recommend using this product unless your stylist recommends it.

I bought this because I’ve been transitioning from red to blonde for the past year and my hair is mostly blonde now with a tinge of red at the root. To maintain the blonde I thought this would be good to revive my colour and make it look nice until my next colour but it turned the blonde parts of my hair purple! And when I tried to wash it out again it only faded slightly but still remained a purple hue! I put it on for the recommended 10 minutes so I have no idea why it did this. Don’t buy this there’s plenty of other masks to maintain blonde hair that don’t cause it to turn purple ☹️

I personally haven't experienced the green hair with my blonde hair but have noticed the dull appearance. I try to shower after swimming and seems to help keeping it from turning green if blonde hair does that. I wanted a good purple shampoo to keep up the blonde highlights I've added in and bring my hair to a shiny state. This purple mask is easy to apply. Massage into hair and let It sit for about 10 mins. Then wash. It leaves hair nice and refreshed. I try to do this mask once a week, I do not notice my hair having a brassy look.

I can only get my blonde this bright and shiny right after leaving the salon. However, the Redken blonde hair mask is now making it possible to achieve salon worthy hair from home! This softens my dry hair as it also brightens, not much of a smell to the product which is a bonus. Be very careful when using, as it is a little messy and a really deep purple color, I did create a bit of a mess in my shower the first time I used it, but nothing a little cleaner couldn't fix. Also make sure to rinse very well, so there isn't any purple dye left on your scalp. I only use this once at week at most, but it really works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hairmask worked great and it is very pigmented. Smells soft and wonderful as well. My only issue with it is soley based on convenience. Directions recommed after shampooing, towel dry hair, wearing gloves apply to hair and comb to evenly distribute. Then wait around for 5-10 minutes then rinse out. For me, I usually don't have a lot of time to spare and when i'm in the shower, I'm trying to get it all done and out in a shot time. I would only be able to use this mask very sparingly given that I would have to get in the shower, shampoo, hop out, towel dry hair, apply mask, let sit up to 10mins, then get back in the shower and finish up. Overall the mask itself is great, it's the time needed that I dont always have.
